How many Derry teams are in contention for qualification? Dungiven and Slaughtneill seem in line for quailfying. Glenullin and Ballinascreen seem to be having a good battle. Thats a surprise considering Screen are division 2. What do clubs think of the Ulster league? Is it a useful exercise.

And Glenullin still struggled to beat us in our last game of the year a few months ago!

Was away for the past week there

Screenexile - away anywhere nice?

Ski-ing in France... great week away but had a bit of a wipeout on the Thursday which has decomissioned the back for a while. Fantastic holiday though and I'd recommend it to anybody!

Heard Damian retired due to work commitments.Good player for Slaughtneill and they will miss him. Benny Murray is reported not to be playing for Ballinascreen (didnt play much last year also
)and David O'Neill is out again for Bellaghy.Great player.Hope it works out for him.

who reported this nonsense...david O'neill is not out for must have been a ghost he seen :D :D :D

you got it wron g again max heard from a player at the weekend hes been out from the start, great news.

Was away for the past week there and just noticed that it appeared to be the quietest week on the thread for some time... maybe I should take something from that  :-[ :-[.

Screen had another good win in the Ulster League and we are in good shape to qualify from the group if we can produce another good performance against Maghery on Sunday.

Anyone going to this coaching conference on Saturday? Looks like it will be a worthwhile event and I'm hoping to get to it myself.

It would be quicker to head by the Screen! Take the Lough Fea Road and it's a straight road all the way to Banagher!!

How come there are no Kilrea lads on the minor panel??  College committments?

Can only presume that most of the lads from that minor team are overage this year.

Aye I'll be going anyway. Not too bad a drive, 3 hours I reckon.

Pat McEnaney reffin means an automatic Derry lost though.
Not that I'd be cynical or anything.

From Derry City to Portlaoise from the AA Roadwatch site

Screen overturned reigning champions Glenullin yesterday on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-5. Good performance from the lads but both teams missing a lot so I wouldn't read too much into it.

Screen beat Glenullin 12 to 5. Both teams missing a few but still a good performance from the lads.

Of the team that won the All Ireland in 93, the Downeys, McGilligan and the Mc Gurks were all great hurlers indeed Seamy Downey was a good a hurler as I'ver seen but once football came calling and they were made to make a choice they chose the big ball.

Tony Scullion and Kieran McKeever were both noted hurlersas well!

Disappointing news surely as I was thinking this was the year it would all have come together for him with the county. Will be a big loss to Glenullin's championship push this year as if it wasn't hard enough already to try and retain the championship  they could have done without that!
