Regarding Fintona as a venue for the JFC, there's absolutely nothing wrong with our "training" pitch for playing full games on. Since it opened a few years ago it's hosted a load of competitive games both for the club at all age ranges as well as a neutral ground for championship and league knockout games. The two legit complaints that could be made would include the lack of proper terracing for spectators, and that there are no turnstiles for entrance. But the facilities in question were never intended to be used for such purposes. And it's not as if the club itself is demanding to host these games - the county board are the ones responsible for designating host grounds for championship games. In a ten mile radius of our ground the only other possible floodlight venues would either be Healy Park or Garvaghy, the former was likely ruled out for a junior 1st round double header, just because, while I'm not sure if Garvaghy is able to resume hosting such games again (something to do with surface problems on the pitch which has an adjacent covered stand)? Don't hate on us, we've done nothing wrong.

Have you never seen Dromoreís second pitch with the terracing?

We are leaving them 4 on 4 up top, dangerous game, midfield not playing well but there is a goal in Mane, 2-0

There is a bar in Manhattan called Carraghers (there is some Jamie connection) https://www.carraghersnyc.com/

They are charging $50 for the Champions League final and are already sold out

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cl-final-at-carraghers-tickets-61678062746

Don't think it is worth it even with the "Cover charge includes commemorative T-shirt and one drink ticket."

I was reading about this on Facebook and a carragherís employee had responded but I canít find his response.

Basically last year there was no fee and a load of non-paying customers took up a lot of space, members couldnít get in etc. This time members are getting in free and the $50 for the rest is to cover the costs of those that come in to watch and donít buy any things, extra security that is needed etc.

If I find his comment Iíll post it up.

Each to their own but no chance Iíd be paying anywhere near that.

Carraghers is owned by a good GAA supporting Tyrone man, a kind sponsor to his local GAA club, fair play to him for charging whatever he can get, at the end of the day his pub is beside Times Square so it wouldnít be cheap to run his establishment which by the way is a great spot.

Booking a Xmas break with the Mrs, unfortunately she canít do long haul flights. Have done Prague, Edinburgh which were very good at Xmas and also Dublin, Galway etc which are great but it is as cheap to head away somewhere. I was thinking of Bath in England, not a big fan of English food but am told Bath is a lovely place to go. Has any of you been there and would you recommend it?

Not sure if many neutrals attended the Paul McGirr u16 final yesterday in dromore. In what was a great spectacle for underage football in Ulster. We were lucky to come out on the right side and bring another underage trophy back to the steps of Quinnís corner. Some outstanding performances on the carmen team which we hope will drive these lads on to greater things in a not so distant future!!

Even As a Dromore man I have to admit it was an astonishing game of football played in horrendous conditions, a real credit to both teams and an awesome occasion, the atmosphere in the stand in the last 10 minutes was something to behold, Carmen deserving winners and they have some serious talent in that team. For anyone who wants to see the entire production click onto the íSpirit of Paul McGirrí on Facebook and you can see the build up and the full game with Michaťl OíMuircheartaigh commentating. It was without doubt the best game I witnessed in a long time.

At QUB 90-94, great times but dangerous times, was on my way to the ormeau road bookies about 40 seconds away when the shooting happened, was in it all day the day before and had a winning bet from Tuesday night football game to collect on the day of the shooting.  My week consisted of the chaplaincy Monday night, was actually great craic, place at the top of Sandy Row on Tuesday , canít remeber the name or else the union, Bot Wednesday and never missed Elms on a Thursday. Kebab van opposite the Bot was part of my staple diet, great wee chippy opposite the top of stranmillis gardens too was good spot. Great times but glad the lads there now donít have to worry about the troubles as we did then.

Have to say the MFC sports range is excellent.
Very competitively priced especially compared to O'Neills.
Have noticed more and more clubs ( in the North ) making the switch to them.
They customer service is brilliant.
Agree with the comment made earlier about O'Neills getting complacent. Their customer service is a complete joke.
Price wise MFC is the same as ONeills. But quality for me isnít near as good.

We will agree to disagree

I have found the opposite

I agree with you Fermgael, we have made the switch to Mfc and the quality is first class, priced better than oíneills too but the big thing is the customer service in unequaled, OíNeillís customer service has went badly downhill imo

7 out of the 9 counties still run U16ís, for the other two we select the U15 winners and they can make up the team with their U16ís. Was an awkward situation so this is the way we decided to go, not sure how the St Paulís U18 competition is going to do it as they are in a similar situation
