I’m on the right side of centre from a political viewpoint , but not wedded to a particular party. Would probably have given most no1s to FG during my voting career.
Can’t believe a sensible poster like BCB is defending this wench’s claim.
It’s risible

I am not defending her claim. I agreed on the specific case that there were issues with it. In a general sense though I find the attack on the ‘Claim culture’ very wrong.
There's a shock  ;)

There is a bar in Manhattan called Carraghers (there is some Jamie connection) https://www.carraghersnyc.com/

They are charging $50 for the Champions League final and are already sold out

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cl-final-at-carraghers-tickets-61678062746

Don't think it is worth it even with the "Cover charge includes commemorative T-shirt and one drink ticket."

I was reading about this on Facebook and a carragher’s employee had responded but I can’t find his response.

Basically last year there was no fee and a load of non-paying customers took up a lot of space, members couldn’t get in etc. This time members are getting in free and the $50 for the rest is to cover the costs of those that come in to watch and don’t buy any things, extra security that is needed etc.

If I find his comment I’ll post it up.

Each to their own but no chance I’d be paying anywhere near that.

Carraghers is owned by a good GAA supporting Tyrone man, a kind sponsor to his local GAA club, fair play to him for charging whatever he can get, at the end of the day his pub is beside Times Square so it wouldn’t be cheap to run his establishment which by the way is a great spot.
You've just put a load of people off visiting  :)

Is it like 350 a round plus a mandatory caddie at 60 or 70?
Just €375 plus €75 for a mandatory caddie. You'd be better flying to the Algarve for a week.

I was in Strasbourg a couple of years ago. Contacted Anderson, Nicholson & Dodds about seeing the parliament - number of responses = zilch. Needless to say I won't be arsed going out tomorrow, if that's their attitude.
Jim only has time to clock in before nipping back to the airport.

Enjoying Chernobyl on Sky Atlantic, although the "ey oop, lad" accents of some of the characters takes a bit of getting used to.

Who needs fictional TV shows when you have this on. It's dark, intense and captivating.

The only annoyance I have is the range of accents in it. Should have made it authentic and used Russian actors with subs
Absolutely grim but compelling viewing tonight.

I've got used to the accents now.

Maybe been covered before in here but has anyone any recommendations for a short midweek (around late Oct nearly Nov) break in Europe for couples?
Somewhere not too expensive, plenty to see and do and also sit and watch the world go by with a beer in me hand for a few hrs if the mood takes.

Prague and/or Krakow.
Second that but there won't be much heat about. You could try Lisbon or southern Spain if there are off-season flights available. A friend went to Malaga and thought it was really nice having spent years arriving at the airport and then heading to the costas.

Watching the game on BBC now, that was some pass and finish for that Armagh goal in extra time.
BBC not afford to show the score?! Very annoying.

Too many lads hang on, so Kompany making the right decision to leave after a successful season. I'd be surprised if he played 20 matches a season for the last 3 or 4 years so he's better winding down.

The state of her  ;D

Good to see she dressed appropriately for the occasion. :P

Looks like one of the  Liverpool office staff that Brendy was knocking off.
City fans becoming as obbsessed with Liverpool as their noisy neighbours are.

Why would anyone be obsessed with a team who haven't won the league in 30 years?

Didn't see it but that's a serious humping at that level in the last 4 of a competition. Shit one for Best and Cave to go out on.

The bar is set pretty low when it comes to politicians here so I don’t see what the obsession is with Martina Anderson other than a bit of old fashioned Sinn Fein bashing? They’re all pretty shite as individuals and politicians, she definitely doesn’t have the monopoly in the department
You can criticise her without nailing SF. I think she is absolutely useless and has zero respect amongst her peers. She got voted in because of who she is rather than what she can do. I would equally say the same about Dodds.

If I wanted someone to diligently and competently fight my corner in Europe I'd go for Long. I'd even have Danny Kennedy ahead of either Anderson or Dodds.

Have you ever seen Anderson and Dodds in the same debate? If you did you wouldn't put them anywhere near the same level!
That's an argument around levels of mediocrity.
