Most unusual scenario with the county management
As always, water tight, no leaks. Ye got to give it to these guys

What is this they are looking for? I'm only guessing but would it be the changes that players can't drop off the county panel once the club leagues commence??

The calibre of men involved, you'd have to listen carefully and in all likelihood grant whatever they asked for

Quote from: NotedObserver on August 21, 2024, 09:13:20 PMCan we expect a change? Surprised no leaks

In fairness this management team has been exceptional at preventing leaks

Water tight these lads.

Genuinely think it's 50/50 stay or go. Hopefully by this time tomorrow evening we will know.

Fingers crossed they go.

Quote from: Truthsayer on August 20, 2024, 01:59:49 PMRory Gallagher will not be taking Derry. That's it.

I agree.

Since 30th June they've been plotting it. Nominations closed on 25th July. Yet here we are. When will the penny finally drop that this appointment is impossible

Also you've got to consider speaking to Rory Brennan, Paul Donaghy, Mark Bradley, Peter Teague, Conor Cush, Michael McGleenan, Danny Fullerton, Oisin McCann, Eoin Corry, Steve Donaghy, Michael Conroy etc
Serious potential in the county at the moment

Hearing there will be clarity on the County Management situation very soon. Thursday evening maybe

What's the protocol for Derry co Board, Derry players and RG himself when some reporter finally starts to ask the awkward questions?

How will Derry react to the enviable sledging tactics from various opposition? RGs antics of old on the sideline don't bode well

Caks reckons the leadership group amongst the players want him back

I'd be staggered if a few didn't walk away. How could you work under such a man? How could you take his critique seriously, especially considering he has demonstrated publicly time and again a disgusting mouth.

Club Derry will struggle to maintain the work and revenue stream which they currently produce.

The brand will be seriously damaged for sponsorship renewals

What's the protocol for Derry co board when women's aid plan a demonstration at a game?

Quote from: ONeill on August 10, 2024, 07:14:06 AMWonder could we see Conor McKenna next year. He seems to have lost form and is now playing for the seconds out there.

He's still another year after this one on this contract. Plenty of Australian dollar to collect yet
McKenna strikes me as the kind of guy who just about does enough to get by. Put in a massive shift last year to earn a lucrative 2 year contract extension. Now he has got it... It's chilled out laid back Conor again. Fair play to him, living the dream. Love to see him in a Tyrone jersey again, 2026???

Quote from: NotedObserver on July 30, 2024, 09:56:39 AMHave many heard people backing Dooher? anyone I spoke to will want a change. I'd love Dooher and Logan to get it going again but massive changes required

Would like to see a coaching ticket with a sole focus on the county senior team and not double-triple jobbing in clubs and colleges too, that would surely claw a few % back in freshness and focus among mgmt

That was last year's ultimatum, and to be fair Holmes and McMahon stepped back from club commitments

Where does last night's result leave Carrickmore?
I definitely had them in the equation for the championship, but that defeat feels significant
Plenty of time to regroup no doubt, where they missing any men?

Quote from: TyroneOnlooker on July 26, 2024, 09:33:12 AMI don't think he's interested in playing county football which is fair enough, it's all consuming. He's an automatic starter if he wanted to be there. Electric to watch.

Was he on the panel this year?

No, but as far as I am aware that was his choice

Not sure that was the case, management made a decision that any player who walked away previously, would not be invited back

Quote from: redzone on July 09, 2024, 08:30:13 PMRemember Paul Devlin didn't pick him in 21 for the squad and they still won the all- Ireland. Wonder has is attitude changed. He was hard work from what I recall. Probably remind me of Conroy. Has all the potential
Was it not more of the case that Danny wouldn't rejoin the panel for 2022 after the mismanagement and subsequent disagreement with Devlin against Donegal in 2021 that ultimately resulted in a strong Tyrone team going out in the first round?
There will always be 2 sides to every story I suppose. But u would imagine when a player tells a manager to go f**k themselves he won't get an invite back.
Be interesting to see how he gets on in the championship. It's scoring forwards we need. He's small though.
That first round defeat would in 21 is why I wouldn't consider him for the senior job. Halftime was apparently just a load of roaring and shouting at the players. Very little tactical nouse at all. And no senior experience at any level either

Did he not take a senior club team in Derry? Maybe not .. I thought he was about the dugout with Balinderry

He was about Ballinderry yeah

I was thinking the exact same today. If Armagh can get to an all ireland final, what's stopping us?

The answer to that is fairly obvious!!

where are you seeing theres a new jersey?
I think the reference was to the new 2024 jersey with Errigal as sponsor. Probably means wouldn't be change of sponsor in 2025.

Yeah that's what I meant to say
