GAA Discussion / Re: Old outfield players still plugging away?

There's a lad called Barry McGaharn playing for Cootehill Celtic in Cavan at full back. I think he is 43 but maybe more. Cootehill are a divison 1 senior championship team.

Surely Rahan will have to get over the line this year.

Losing Oisin Kiernan a loss.

Gaels gone, bet by Gowna - it's like old times! They only managed 1 win in the championship.

Ramor gone too.

I guess Seanís book didnít go down well in Tyrone.. Head boxed off him by the looks of things on Twitter 😬

Two knees going by reports. Broken nose, concussed and suspected broken jaw. 20 yellow cards, 6 reds and a black in game. After Friday's incident not a good weekend for Tyrone football's image.

Interesting that Mick McCarthy has said very little since Siapan yet he's becoming more and more believable.

I think McCarthy said/done enough at Siapan

Maybe so, but the ineptitude of the cowboys in the FAI played a big part in what happened there.

Lads it's not 2002. Leave it there.

How does someone arguing against the claims make them more authentic  :)

Well instead of saying that's not Stephen he said Stephen wasn't there in May.

I dont agree with her actions or language, the demeanor of the crowd was way out of whack, I also don't agree with the whataboutery
It was awful for the Osaka girl also

but...

I was worried about her mental state after her previous implosion which she attributed to post partum depression.
You don't shake the like of that of in a few months.

The last thing she needs is vilification.
For the Serena partisans I would like to see less talk of equality and rules and more about the mental health of new mothers.... that the real issue here for me

What about all her outbursts and disgusting things she's said to officials before pregnancy?

Is it confirmed as Ward though, strange thing for a player to release unless he set up by a journo or something?

I heard from a good source it's him and genuine. It's a leaked WattsApp voice message. Martin O Neill has argued against Stephen Wards claims so further gives it authenticity. Keane needs to go. That is so old school. Of all lads to be criticising someone for missing internationals because of injuries. Keane also complained that Given had too many caps. Talk about a hypocrite. If O Neill stands over Keane he needs to get the P45 too.

General discussion / Re: The Wire (tv drama)
« on: September 06, 2018, 06:52:45 PM »
The wife turned round to me on Sunday, out of the blue, and said she wanted to start watching the Wire. I've been trying to persuade her for years with no success all I'm delighted. It's a good few years since I watched it through. We'll finish S1 tonight!

The thing I always remember about watching season 1 was that the first time I watched I found it really difficult to understand the dialogue and I had to watch the first 4 or 5 episodes twice. I could then understand it perfectly. A couple of years ago I finally convinced my wife to watch it and she had the exact same problem whereas I was fine despite having not watched an episode in years. I always find that strange because Iíd have no problem with the dialogue if I went to watch again tomorrow

To me itís the second best tv series ever made and in the words of Kevin Keegan thatís the most praise you can give anything.

What's your best, The Wire is still my number 1.

Also.

+1 Still top of my list. The way they built up the characters in the show was just superb. You found yourself rooting for nearly all of them. Best of the lot...Senator Clay Davis. Sheeeeeeit!!   ;D

Wasn't a fan. Loved season 4 and that was it. Breaking Bad or Sopranos the best ever.

Said to them (allegedly) by players or management?

Players. Drew wouldn't shake hands after game.

Anyone hear that the Wylies are releasing a statement about the things that were said to them in the semi final?

No.
Did you?

Yeah heard from a couple Monaghan lads. They wanted to wait till after the final as not to distract from it.

It was concerned about their family and religion allegedly .
