Tyrone / Re: Tyrone Club Football and Hurling

Errigal very impressive today against Omagh. Peter Harte kicked some outstanding scores and took his goal superbly. Will take a good team to stop them.

Kings of Tyrone football coming good.  :)

Thankfully you don't.  Sadly this is typical of Dublin GAA supporters.  At Dublin club games I've heard you can also regularly see so called GAA fans drinking cans of Heineken and smoking joints in the stands while singing soccer songs.

GAA Discussion / Re: Jim Gavin - The Greatest Manager in GAA history

I notice not one of you have considered that Gavin was the tactician that showed us all how to break down the mass blanket defence whilst winning five in a row. Identifying it, coaching it and then executing it saved the game for us all. That's in itself we should all be grateful of and puts him up in that greatest category

Bulldung.
Gavin's success is built on money and privilege alone. Could he do the same with Mayo? No. Enough said.
Christ your bitter. For years people thought the only to beat the blanket was go like for like. Gavin showed another way.

If Gavin was in charge of Mayo they'd have won a couple of All Irelands. He impowers players and makes them better and isnt afraid to pick youngster ahead of established players.

And if Kildare had €2M of crooked money a year for a decade they could buy 5 in a row too.

If Gavin can win Sam with another county he will get the credit he deserves.  If he simply fills his pockets and runs away then he won't.

What do you call normal?
We'll have a biteen of local excitement in Connacht and th'Ulsters will have their annual love in. Only 3 teams won Ulster in this decade?
Munster will see if Kerry reach 100 before Cork reach 50.
Leinster will be about who gets to lose to Dublin in the Final .
The AI (tier 1 if it hapoens) will be about who Dublin with its huge numbers, resources, finances, home venue etc. beat in the Final.
If Tier 2 happens might generate a bit of excitement for the bottom 16 and the Leagues will at least give every County a chance of a more season Cupeen.
Normal would be :
- the Dubs losing a Leinster final
- Someone else winning the all Ireland or maybe 2 different teams winning the next 3 Sams
- Dubs getting no All Stars

as opposed to the current Dub Japanese knotweed model

Your problem is Dublin winning anything it seems or having a dominent period .

Dublin being hated and people wanting them to lose is nothing new to this decade. Its always been the case. I enjoy it and makes victory so much sweater.

Enjoy the modern day success that you never had when it is was based on effort alone. Pillar and Dublin couldn't compete with Tyrone and Armagh based on volunteer effort alone despite 10/1 population advantage. Enter Bertie and the €2M euro a year scam to  buy AIs that you could not win!

Could literally have scored 6 or 8 on another night! Greenwood will certainly make the grade.

Great performance in a hostile atmosphere against a team that beat PSG a few weeks ago.  Could have won it and ref bought the play-acting by Rennes keeper to send Bayo off, probably off the back of Hayes cleaning yer man out, albeit fairly.

Does anyone see things going back to normal in the next few years?
What is the definition of normal, Dublin losing championship games?

Dublin players running around Coppers off their tits the year round shagging anything that moves

Fernando Ricksen. Taken away at a very young age, but I'd imagine his passing is a release for the fella, given the nature of his illness.

Rest In Peace.

Wouldn't be too arsed about the Celtic Rangers fandango but he played in the last decent era of Scottish football and was a constant thorn in Celtics side, remember hating him with a passion just because of the way he got results, but have to say watching his illness play out has been gutwrenching and put a new perspective on things for me, no-one deserves that and God love him and his family. Was great to see the 2 sides of Glasgow come together in support of him in recent times. Indeed I would imagine it'll be a relief to the poor fella that his suffering is over. RIP

I never minded Ricksen.  Never one to gloat or rub it in.  Lovenkrands on the other hand...
