R.e Minor Managment

I'm a bit baffled by your post and comments made by others to be honest .

We in Laois seem to have an awful habit of being negative and basing our opinions on here say .

Who knows how this year's minor management will do but jeez give them a chance will you !
The man has just been ratified and some have him written off .

Just a few points of  interest

1. Complaints made by his own coaches..
As far as I am aware his coaches from the 15s have followed through with him to minors . Would they really back sombody they didn't believe in ???
I know I wouldn't would you ??

2. Telling lads not to hurl .
Within the team there is hurlers ,rugby players and Soccer  players and  were all accomadated throughout the year . Same can't be said about other years

3. The u15 team were very successful under him and played some very tough competition along the way so aside from coach it's unfair to make little of what the u15 team achieved last year .

It was also noted the panel was  never closed management attended a lot of club games in both A and B competitions and added to the panel throughout the season based on performance at club games  instead of the usual  have trials and close shop .

Whilst I understand everyone  will have a difference of opinion .  It's unfair to write the management off before a ball is kicked an base it on false information .

Looks like Newbie04 is the new account of Mark, Now that he was identified as GAA-Smart...

Both games should be close, Rosenallis vs Portlaoise not on until Monday night in O'Moore Park, Maybe Portlaoise might use 1 or 2 of their intermediate team on Sunday afternoon in the senior.

Clonaslee vs Mountmellick think Mountmellick might have a bit much for Clonaslee in this game but on the other hand, you can never write off Clonaslee.

Yeah, it's hard one to call I think it's a very close championship, But just looking at results and will be interesting to see tonight what way Clonaslee and The Rock finish up with Rosenallis having beaten them by 17 points in the earlier round.  Let's see what way results go tonight, And your right Annanough have absolutely nothing to fear at all.

Anyone any thoughts on how the Intermediate is going to go? Looks to be very close between the teams that will probably be left in it after the weekend's fixtures. Presuming Portlaoise and Clonaslee win semi-final line up will be.

Rosenallis vs Portlaoise
Mountmellick vs Clonaslee

Who is Cotter? Where has he come from or what club is he from, Excuse my ignorance but what is his CV like or how did he manage to get involved with Sugrue this year?

Let alone the only reason he got brought on was that of who the manager was another connection to the family, He was a bit part player for Arles Kileen all his career, People saying give him a chance (Very few mind you going by comments on facebook) The selection committee have messed up with this one, Here is someone who has no club management experience only u16 club experience whether he did a good interview or not there should have been common sense prevail here sorry Billy try again next year get yourself a club team see what you can do and come back then if ifs there again next year. But nope give it to him now, Maybe he'll bring in Daddy with him and Luke Dempsey for a few sessions and all team meetings in O'Loughlin's hotel too.

Paddy Dunne from Rosenallis and Mark Rooney are the only Two I know of that had interviews, Hard to see how either of those would not be selected ahead of him, Again it is definitely politics that's playing it's part here. Fergal Byron on the panel and Declan O'Loughlin was a selector with Micko when he was in charge, It's absolutely impossible for him to be given this job on past experiences, It's nothing against the chap but he has done nothing of club management no experience say what you want about college whatever he has done it's nothing compared to having a team from January to September 3 nights a week training, College football ran off in a couple of weeks and based on players available at college very easy be successful. This should be rejected by the county board tonight.

Shocking appointment what in gods name are the county board doing or the interview panel. No management experience, Never played on any county team and a bit part player most of his career. Must be those years of been water boy for micko. Hardly the family link that got him the job.

Also I hear the game against Clonaslee and Rosenallis u16 football went off without any incident, Think the big talking point was that the lad that got injured is out for up to 3 months and the players that were so called suspended were playing last night against Rosenallis, Doesn't make much sense does it?
