By and large I've been impressed with how the population has taken this seriously. I'm a bit more rural than yourself but even our towns round Tyrone are ghost.

Same. Was out for the groceries yesterday and very little traffic on the road and even fewer in the supermarket. I think the message is getting through for the majority. Companies still operating who are non-essential are doing more harm to themselves in the long run by not closing.

Tighter restrictions coming in NI tonight?
https://twitter.com/Tracey_utv/status/1244007255672053761
Thought that initially myself but think it's still the same as GB but Stormont had to ratify it and it's now became law locally. Not 100% sure tho tbh.

Yeah I donít see any difference to what Boris announced last Monday night. I think itís just the fines for violating such restrictions thatís the difference.

So were we not supposed to following these guidelines for the past week?

Jesus. These people are saints going to work every day in this :(

Takes balls to go into that tsunami, good luck to them and I hope they turn this around. Stay in

Unbelievable strength to go in to work knowing whatís ahead of you...

I see on Twitter that Michelle O Neill has been out to see community nurses today - I honestly cannot believe the stupidity - the message is stay home!!! How this couldnít have been done over the phone... god almighty! If sheís on the road the mixed messages being sent to the public are so confusing!

Leo issues a list within 24 hours of essential businesses & the north still scrambles to pull it together.

Absolutely. A phone call doesnít provide the same phot opportunity though. . .

Worth noting that O'Neills were being absolutely hammered last week for ceasing sports goods production. Give these companies a chance. Everyone is trying to manage an unprecedented situation as best they can.

Rightly so to be honest, they couldn't wait to get rid of staff and they haven't needed the money in years truth be told.

Kieran Kennedy didnít wake up last week and decide on the spur of the moment to get rid of 750 staff. Theyíd a wage bill of £13m in 2018 perhaps itís even more now. Thatís a lot to sustain if you have nothing coming into the bank or an order book showing sweet FA.

Fair point, but you would imagine they'll be flying online with football orders, home training equipment and the likes. Just seemed like a very quick step, to a week later announce they could suddenly do medical stuff.

Wouldn't go so far as to label them cnuts...but yeah, they could have kept people on for a few weeks to see what would / could have happened.

Hopefully they can get the employment numbers back up in that area. I see they are doing an online sale at moment, anything to stimulate growth.

Yeah fair point possibly could have had. Iím sure county and clubs would still have been ordering kits up to a short time ago. I just donít think they are up with the likes of Sports Direct and Whetherspoons levels.

Think it was 53/5 in the Uk today chaps the 3 mustve been a misprint
I'm not sure what happened there. I definitely saw 3, then 33 then 56.

Iíve seen that in the last week. It seems to update in stages. I thought once updated that was that for the day but seemingly not.

I'm sure most have seen this on social media but the 2005 AI final is now up in full on YouTube!

The GAA hour podcast analysed it last Monday. It was very good. Brings back memories.

Tough read and all the best to the young lad with whatever journey he now takes. One thing which really jumped out at me though. There's a serious problem with gambling in that community - and I'm not just referring to the obvious case. Why is that? It's a curse of a thing and has been a huge contributor to many a mental health problem over the years.

Absolutely it is and Iíve been in changing rooms where itís been the only topic of conversation from managers to players. My own theory and itís only a small part of it again is social media. How many times do you see some put up on Facebook or twitter their big win on the football or the horses? They donít put up all the losses. This in turn draws people in to think itís easy to win a few quid and it spirals. My 2p on it anyway. I have had the odd bet over the years and can see how it can draw you in.

Jet2 cancelling flights and holidays to Spain including Canary Islands this morning. Does this effect anyone? I am due to go to Lanzarote 1st week of June with the wife and kids. Havenít a clue what way this leaves me now or even what to do. Cancel and lose the deposit or wait and see?

I had us booked for May to Salou, the final payment was due this morning (I had already extended the date as long as I could) and it wouldn't let me cancel online, said I had to ring. So I said f**k it on Friday morning i'll ring now, thought I would forget to ring yesterday. Was on hold for about 40 mins. Got it cancelled then, lost my £180 deposit. If I'd waited less than a day to Saturday I'd have got the lot back! f**k.

I have managed to extend the final payment for another 2 weeks to the end of March so will just have to play it by ear until then. I can't imagine the situation will change much in those 2 weeks. Would you have got the whole lot back if you'd have waited the extra day?

So now Sinn Fein want the schools in the North closed less than 24 hours after saying they should remain open.

Italian figures aren't right though clearly they have many more confirmed cases than 15,000 that's only the amount who have tested positive.

It seems to have slipped under the radar that the UK are only testing people who are hospitalised, if you show symptoms you have to self isolate... so the number in reality is much much higher than the number we are getting.

Yes the daily reported figure is in no way accurate. Theyíve estimated that the people who have it at the moment in the UK may actually be between 5,000 and 10,000.

It really is the worst possible prime minister for such a scenario.

(You could take the last 4 words away there too).

This is his take on it ďOne of the theories is perhaps you could take it on the chin, take it all in one go & allow #coronvirus to move through the populationĒ

Boris has no intention of any lockdowns.
