Tyrone / Re: Tyrone County Football and Hurling
« on: December 08, 2020, 06:27:39 PM »
Gilroy spoke very favourably of Tyrone last night on the Sunday Game as being at the top table for the past 20 years without the funding Dubs have got, as an argument against the anti-Dublin brigade..

As far as I'm aware, Gilroy's granny was a burnt-out-of-Belfast refugee to Dublin in the 1920s, which might explain his relative lack of antipathy towards nordies like us over the years.

Some pressure on the new management if they don't deliver a McKenna early doors.

Au contraire, failing abysmally the the Mc Kenna, for a change, might be seen as an unremittingly positive omen!  ;)

It was the first time I heard a detailed account of what actually happened at Croke Park and the aftermath.
Hard to imagine should 6 or 10 of those murdered at Bloody Sunday in Derry were shoved into the one unmarked grave.
Typical Churchillian type imperialism, 'the natives were scum'.

Seriously though, do you think that generals Wilford or Ford could have given less of a fiddler's fcuk where those victims ended up, either in a limestone communal pit or each a dedicated grave?
I don’t give a fiddler’s about the generals, I am remarking about how the murdered were treated then. Seriously though,  are you really that dumb?

Generally not half as dumb as yourself, but to suppose that Imperial overlords from one generation to the next differ to any significant degree beggars belief, where Ireland, north or south, is specifically concerned.

GAA Discussion / Re: Micky Harte & Tyrone part their ways!!!

Though some may have understandable criticism of Harte over some issues

That is quite the understatement.

Is there anyone out there who doesn't think the man is a p***k?
I’m an Armagh man and think Harte is an absolute gentleman. What makes you say he’s a p***k?

Aside from giving a charachter refernce to a rapist who dumped a naked victim out of a moving van?

Giving a charachter reference to a guy who murdered his father?

Giving a charachter reference for a man who defrauded his own mother out of her life savings?

Helping launch a book that claimed condoms spread AIDS?

Using GAA facilities to campaign in a referendum he couldn't vote in?

What the fcuk is a "charachter" [sic]?

Capitals are important too, for sure -- it all helps for clarity of expression.  :)

I don't think a full stop is correct after you first Comma the buddy.
shouldn't it be a COMMA?

Not necessarily. A semi-colon perhaps, but a full-stop is perfectly valid, for emphasis.

Rumours of our demise have, quite possibly, been greatly exaggerated :D ;)
Mud wrestling reprieve in Dork.

Yeah, yeah, whatever -- 'tis called winning, you know.  :P

Kerry no 2 battered McShane when he came on too.
Jason Foley done nothing wrong.  He was just laying down a marker getting into McShane head. Didnt resort to the thuggery which Clifford was subjected to.

The epitome of sanctimony, right there!

You're neither, neither the soi-disant Greatest, nor an Aristocrat, merely indulging your insatiable appetite for attention.

So at the back of it all, Kerry did no better than ourselves in the '18 Final -- that they couldn't do it first day out against a badly off colour Dubs tells its own story.

Well done Dublin, a truly remarkable achievement.

Up yours Deegan! :P ;)

Eh, they took it to a replay. That’s a lot better than you done

I knew that would sail blithely over the head of some.. A draw is INCONCLUSIVE -- what did Kerry win by drawing? In the conclusive game, they lost by the same margin we did, an indisputable fact.

I know it hurts you lot badly that we still make the final, but do you really have to make it so obvious? :P

MDMA is absolutely worth his place -- reminds me of Enda Mc Ginley for ourselves, nothing exceptional but critically crucial for the basic things in the middle of the park, and without which any team struggles.
