Why does it go offline? I'd say once a month with mine, I suppose it take a couple of minutes to hook it back up again but still..

No idea, never used to, router hasn't changed & is close to the ring doorbell. Maybe they just run out of juice after a few years.

And it's been offline when I didnt know it was

Quote from: DaleCooper on July 08, 2025, 01:44:02 PMI dont think anyone has mentioned it yet but for the people of Glencolumbkille its a 3 hour and 16 minute drive to Casement Park.

It's west Donegal, it's a fair trek to any location for a match

As a scoreboard operator for club championship games and county games I always confirmed at HT the scoreboard was correct.
I always waited on the flag/ref signal to put the score up.

As a coach I always had a mgt member record the score and would always check in on it. I would have also always confirmed with the ref the score at HT and again possibly with a few mins to go if it was tight and I was anything less than 100%.

In this case the game was correct. The venue made a mistake and I think the media copied that.
I would doubt if Kilkenny were all under the impression there was 3 in it. Id guess E Murphy knew. I'd guess some of the mgt knew. It may be that some outfield players didn't but I'd also guess some did - some players are well in tune with all aspects of the game, with some even savvy enough to ask the ref.

But the ref had the score wrong too so a player asking wouldn't have got the right answer

But did he? I wouldn't take too much out of what Galvin says.

Has the ref said he'd the score incorrect?

Well he submitted the incorrect score, it would be a strange thing for Gavin to put to ink if it wasn't true and I would say would be fairly easy to refute.

Looks like RTE & the scoreboard in Croke Park wrong, gave a point for McGraths late wide. Wondered why Kilkenny weee going for a goal with what looked like enough time to get three points

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on July 03, 2025, 06:21:17 PMAre there decent hurling podcasts as the GAA social is definitely miss titled

Best one is Anthony Daly in Examiner, behind a paywall though.

The hurling pod on Off the Ball/Newstalk is free and do a 2nd members one also I think. Paul Murphy and James Skehill the pundits.

OurGame by Michael Verney and Shane Stapleton is decent for Hurling

Yeah I always liked the Our Game one, Stapleton hasn't been on much this year as he's got a "real" job now aaparently.

Can't agree with the poster above about the Examiner one, too much chat about racing and "craic" & can't have Landers at all, it's almost as if he's playing a character.

A lot of the reports are done by PROs or someone from the home club, they obviously can't be at every game

Ah just some Gaaboarders who love a good rant especially a negative one and get a dig at the GAA powers that be as well.

So you think the TC is a success?
Define success.

Limerick and Kildare players (especially the lad who got the goal)looked very happy.

14,000 in Newry
15,000 Ballybofey
13,900 Croke Park
9,000 in Killarney

4 teams in Croke Park, and you usually get your biggest crowds in a final - not prelim QFs. Bizarre reasoning

Quote from: Schkite on June 22, 2025, 06:49:59 PMIs it set that the Galway and Donegal quarters will be next Sunday then? Can only imagine what Jim will be saying if they were to have a 6 day turnaround

Would it not make sense and be fair all around given that the Dubs and Kerry played yesterday?

Would Jim be out of order to point this out?

If Jim wants people to pay attention then he'd do well to not have them doing 4 or 5 sessions over those 6 days

Is this true or an internet rumour?

Do people seriously think IC teams are running the balls off players in the week between games ? Club teams don't do it, isn't it all about load management these days ?

I would have assumed that load management, rest and light, tactical and skills training was a given.

You brought up flogging the players.

That was SaffronSports, not me
