GAA Discussion / Re: Down versus Mayo
« on: June 23, 2019, 04:53:16 PM »
It was one of those what could've been nights for down. If we had a reliable free taker and a decent kick out strategy we could've been a lot closer to mayo in the final moments. Added to that we had numerous goal chances and balls dropped short into the keepers hands.
But in saying all that mayo were the better team with better individual footballers who are more street wise and physically stronger than down.
Mayo I feel will need to tighten up at the back if they are to progress because donegal, kerry or the dubs wont miss the chances down missed.
Great to see a big crowd in pairc esler and met some great mayo supporters before and during the game who had travelled big distances to be there. Good luck to mayo for the rest of the year.

Impressed with Evertons effort today... pressing high and well up for the game, one mistake will win this game

They could be left to rue those many missed chances in the first half.
should be used to it in the derbies at this stage but that is an absolute sickener. To lose like that after playing so well makes it even worse.

The crescent and sphinx. Where was the chaplaincy rings a vague bell here

The Crescent was some spot, sawdust on the floor and 50p a pint!
the crescent was a dodgy spot in early 90's belfast. used to go there regularly on a thursday night for a feed of cheap pints before heading on somewhere else, usually the bot. we had to change our names and all lived in kilkeel if anyone asked, all for cheap drink  ;D

Boca bus attacked on way to the ground, match is either delayed or postponed altogether depending on which reports you believe. Also reports that FIFA have told Boca they'll be disqualified if they dont field.

Crazy fcukers
been postponed until tomorrow night, 8pm kick off. No way it could've been played this evening, crazy scenes.

on the same day that liverpool and the other 19 premier league teams agreed to give £250000 each as a parting gift to richard scudamore, who just happens to already be a multi millionaire. the games gone and it shows how out of touch the money men at the clubs are with the ordinary fans.

Fair play to RGU on winning their playoff game v an riocht on Saturday albeit by using players that should really have been serving out their deserved suspensions.makes a mockery of the whole system and must find themselves very lucky to still be playing in division 1 next year.
imo if one team finishes 7 points ahead of the other then they deserve to stay up.
