Nelson 'Red Sky' McCausland, failed politician and kilt-wearing all-round bigot. Tele is just a DUP propaganda sheet, but as no one buys the rag anymore (its circulation has plummeted), I wouldn't get too annoyed, it's in its death throes...

Margaret Ritchie to enter the lords. Jesus wept, I know the SDLP are sore at having no MP's and I know that she has technically resigned. But HTF on principle can any Irish Nationalist join the lords?

Hardly a surprise;

Margaret still taking the soup.

Typical stoop. Brits wave a wee bauble or bit of ermine their way and they're bowing and scraping. A failed politician who claims she will represent nationakists in Lords. She can fcuk right off

No one with any self respect is putting that sticker on their car.

Unionists will.

As they rage against the dying of the light

Anybody know any bars in Side in Turkey likely to be showing the replay?

If only Sinn Fein would get up and help the people. They’ll be guilty if a No-Deal happens.

I was waiting to see what idiot made this argument.

You won.

You wouldn't have got a decent price on that clown, he was odds-on favourite.

I'd like to congratulate Johnson, he's just sounded the death-knell for the 'precious Union' ... an industrial-sized carton of popcorn ordered to sit back and watch this clusterfcuk develop over the coming two months. And Arlene, don't let the door hit you on the way out when we get our country back at last from thieving Planters

General discussion / Re: Wasps

Hardly seen a wasp this summer until the start of this month. Not quite overwhelmed with them yet, but as MS says above, we're now hitting the time of year where they get easily quite touchy.

Wasps - natures little b*stards.  >:(

Put out a plate with some jam or sugary water or whatever in it. That's all they're after. The queens have stopped laying eggs, the nest social order is breaking down and they don't have to gather other insects any more to feed the new larvae. They'll all be dead soon anyway except for the overwintering queens.

Never would have thought David Attenborough was member of GAA board  ;)  One of the wee b**tards tortured me up at Solitude all day today. Dunno how I didn't get stung.

Remember a few years back they got contract to build/refit one of the big Killybegs trawlers, finished the job, but on night before it was due to be handed over 'mysteriously' caught fire and was gutted. Sectarian cesspit, it'll not be missed

Shinners may have been able to sell return to Dail and that farce up on hill to their voters, but taking oath to queen in London would seriously hit their support and dissidents would be rubbing their hands. Besides, anybody who thinks their votes would make blind bit of difference is deluded. It's not going to happen, no matter how many times that excuse of a politician micheal martin whines on about it.

I predict it will all end in tears (theirs) and laughter (ours). The guy is a 24-carat f**king clown, a liar and a charlatan ... perfect Tory Prime Minister material

Hahaha, the absolute state of anyone who'd let themselves get upset by that.

Nice try btw on the suggestion that the thinking would be "I associate that chant with the RoI team, and loads of the RoI fans really dislike the NI football team, so f**k them and f**k Lowry" rather than just "I associate that chant with the RoI team, so these lads are obviously Irish. f**k these Irish b**tards".
Have you been watching the tele today?

No, I haven't. I pulled the below out of my f**king hole.  ::)

Sure you've lads on this board who wouldn't say anything good about McIlroy because he doesn't conform to their idea of what he should be. Vast majority of crowd have been absolutely roaring Lowry on. There'll always be a couple of gobshites wherever you go.

You're the one bringing up the laughable suggestion that it might be in some way understandable for people up there to be getting upset by chants of olé olé olé.

My point is that the idea of anyone up in Portrush's thought process goes football chant > Irish football team > Irish football fans > they hate NI > I'm upset rather than simply begrudging the Irishman is nonsense.
As you said, the vast majority of fans are roaring Lowry on.  Was simply suggesting why one or two might be non-plussed.  Doesn't look like there are too many who are "simply begrudging the Irishman".

Look up the dictionary definition of words before using them 're.. Non-plussed

Shane shooting the lights out here with the crowd pulling him along hopefully he can do it the weather being bad tomorrow should make it a great watch.

Followed him yesterday and the atmosphere was fantastic.

Great days craic yesterday a phenomenal event organised with military precision hopefully it comes back again!
Get a few more in before the UI?
The Open Championship as far as I known is not limited by rule that it can only be held in the UK, more that it is just a convention. The tournament organisers have even been insistent on discouraging journalists and broadcasters from calling it "The British Open", preferring just "The Open".

Well, Portrush isn't in Britain. That's a factual, inarguable reality

Did I read Peter Donnelly is quitting Tyrone at end of season to take a post with Ulster Rugby ? Big miss for Tyrone if true.

Yes wonder why?

I assume he's now going to be paid a salary for what he's doing. Good luck to him, a great servant to Tyrone as player and trainer. Fact Ulster have employed him shows how good he is at his job.

Great shoulder tackle from Burns early on in second half was my highlight of game, on from performance by Matty and Petey in second half. Still thought we would win at half-time, despite gap. That lad Hurley is a serious footballer. Keep yapping Lenny, we Tyrone people feed on your tears, ye glipe.

The Brits are really in a desperate state and it's hilarious to sit back and watch. They are about to put in 10 Downing Street a total spoofer and incompetent... I doubt he will even last long enough to deliver his Brexit plan once all those skeletons in the cupboard start falling out  :)

GAA Discussion / Re: The Sunday Game
« on: July 15, 2019, 03:10:23 AM »
Great analysis again on the Sunday game. I’m sure everyone is much more enlightened on Tyrone’s tactics after that diagram by Thomas O’Se. Also “over emotion” was the reason Roscommon lost. Something for them to work on.

I laughed at Brolly adding up the potential chances and scores that could have won Roscommon the game yet he didn't factor in the same chances that Tyrone had. Tube.

Exactly. We had plenty of missed chances too.

Yep, was thinking that myself, what a balloon. The Dungiven chimp's hate for Tyrone is almost visceral. It can't be good for the poor fella's mental health, knowing his beloved county have sunk so low that they will never again compete with their more illustrious neighbours.
