Shelmalier / Boolavogue _ the boys of Wexford

Always thought Boolavogue and Enniscorthy were class names.

Age of Coronavirus Deaths
COVID-19 Fatality Rate by AGE:
*Death Rate = (number of deaths / number of cases) = probability of dying if infected by the virus (%).

That is completely incorrect as it assumes that everyone currently affected by the virus that has not yet died, won't die.

nDead/(nDead+nRecovered) is not right either - as there is a time period between "point-nearest-death" and discharged as recovered that the recovering patient won't contribute to nRecovered, but dying patients will add onto nDead.

All the % figures have to be taken with a pinch of salt. There's an unquantifiable amount of people who have contracted the virus and have only had minor symptoms so they've never been diagnosed.

My relative in a UK hospital said they've had a planning meeting re how they'll operate when 1/3rd of staff are unavailable.
They really don't want school closures as that will mean a lot of staff having to stay home and mind kids.
He said that it's in poo, so again more on the handwashing being so important.
Reckons too that there have been cases in western European universities where people working on a cure have inadvertently being infected by the samples they are working on. Wouldn't say where!

Hound the main method of transmission is most definitely not via poo.

Looking at the latest graph's on this it has flatlined in China and looks to be flatlining elsewhere also. Today's numbers in Italy, France, Germany and Spain should tell a tale. Likely 2 versions of the virus knocking around. We are lucky that when it arrived here we have a cold snap with frost at night, that will stop the spread. 60% recovery rate so far and more and more each day.

You should submit your findings to WHO and get someone to teach you maths.  You and getoverthebar will be saying next I can walk why all these ramps into buildings - ridiculous!

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

We may get someone to teach you English and basic sentence construction while we are at it so.

You sound like you are truly consumed by this all and it's really worrying you. Which is fair enough, but your inability to even accept others may not be too worried about it and will continue about their day to day lives is truly baffling. Not everyone wants to buy into the doom and gloom, nor do they want to be abused by someone who wants to force feed (unsubstantiated) end of days stuff to us. I have more to be optimistic about in life.

Well said GetOverTheBar :) :)

Liverpool will be aiming for 3 goals which should be enough. Easier said than done though against athletico. They are well used to playing against better teams and stopping them

Can't see it being like the Barcelona (Anfield) tie last year but hopefully they can get a result.

Is the reason this disease has spread so quickly in China because of the very poor sanitary conditions that they tend to accept?

These things spread, in Ireland most everyone (and most on this board) get a cold in the course of a winter.
The initial step from the animal virus to the human may have been more likely in China than here.

It was similar with the ebola outbreak. Didn't a lot of the mourners insist on touching and kissing the dead bodies? Surely an education program around hand washing etc is a good start with these countries.

It is a good start with all countries.
Still fellas in work who wouldn't wash their hands after using the bog.

Reminds me of being at the Archway Tavern in North London many years ago. Some guy was giving my mate a hard time about not washing his hands when coming from the toilet. He turned around and said 'Me ma taught me not to pee on my hand!' . I thought it was a good one at the time. :) :) The same boy was always neat and tidy and could get a girl every night he went out.

If the Premier League awarded 2 points for a win to Liverpool, but left it at 3 points for a win for all other clubs, Liverpool would still be top.

Liverpool were awarded 3 points for a win since the Premiership inception and having won it yet, what a stupid statement.

I would take it that he is only talking about the current season. Sure we all know Liverpool never won it before.

Do you read your own posts, you are a parasite. This board breeds them 20 odd lads who think they have to right to say what they want under the guise of anonymity and then berate the idiot trolls jesus wept, you are a ballbag if a man.

Says the man on his 8th username

Who else is/was he? I'm very slow at figuring these things out  :(

Maybe I am slow at this too. My guess is Syferus.

Not sure if it's Syferus but he/she/it is back on here for three weeks and hasn't posted a pleasant comment anywhere I can see. Always but always courting controversy.

The MOT centre debacle rolls on. Mine is due on 8th Feb. Anyone any idea when this will all be sorted out?!

That’s pure horse shit too. There’s f**k the much wrong with any photos I seen of those car lifts. If they’d work away until they got them fixed/replaced it wouldn’t do anyone any harm.

If they're throwing them out I'll take one off their hands. Would love a lift for wee odd jobs.  :) :) :) :)

Anyone got a good leaf vacuum for the garden ?  Back breaking stuff shovelling leaves into brown bin. Need something handier at my time of day.

I’ve had a few of them Jim and I have trees everywhere!   Found the black n decker best of the blow/vac but when it eventually packed in I settled on a petrol blower and two of the big plastic ‘hands’ out of Home Bargains to lift them.  Much quicker in the long run than blow/vac/mulch and better exercise with a manageable bit of stooping.

If they're the plastic hands I'm thinking of they're a great job for lifting a good pile of leaves.

VAR got both decisions spot on.

The offside rule should be changed though to give more advantage to the attacking team. Mane had a great header ruled out a couple of games ago for being a centimetre offside.

I think the offside was wrong but var seems to have unintentionally redefined offside rules so the attacker doesn’t have the advantage. In the context of how var works it was correct(and this has counted against Liverpool this season too) and for consistency I don’t see how they change that mid season anyway.

Var is a bag of shite though in general.

If VAR hadn't been in place today and things had gone the same way Liverpool would have lost one nil.

f**k it. Lets just keep on going the way we always have then ram unification down everyones throats in a take it or leave it 50+1 vote. It'll be grand.

In other words, lets ram it down people's throat by sticking to the very guidelines set out in the GFA that those same people voted overwhelmingly in favour of?

So what % do you suggest it should be for a vote in favour of reunification to be valid? Or to put that another way, exactly how much more valuable is a unionist's vote be over a nationalist's vote, in your eyes?

It's not a question of being "valid." It's a question of achieving unity when there's a good consensus for it and when it's not such a bitterly divisive issue. It's about reunification happening peacefully and with less likelihood of a violent loyalist backlash or even civil war. But you try explaining that to the "integrated education will never happen so we should just keep them separate" crowd.

Everyone has been talking about economics being the main issue. All I can see is a bunch of loyalist nutters who would never accept it even if it was 70 - 30 in favour of a UI. Moderate loyalists will never be the problem.

He has one of those faces. One that says he’s up to no good

To me he looks like an ordinary fella and I'd say that's why he had all the support at the start.

It's all very well saying he has one of those faces in hindsight  :) :)

My money would be on Gomez in a fight against Sterling.
Some sympathy going around for Sterling, but whatever he did it must have been pretty bad to get thrown out of England camp!

In fairness to him, he had a really good game on Sunday, but thankfully (and very surprisingly) De Bruyne and Aguero were awful.

I have a feeling both teams will drop a higher than usual amount of points between now and early Jan.

If it had been a game against a top team there is no way he would have been thrown out
Still a massive statement to throw him out. A very public admonishment. No attempt to dress it up as something else. It would have been easy to say he's picked up a minor niggle and for Southgate to just privately tell him not to do whatever he did again.

Idiotic from Southgate.

Two young, highly competitive lads in a very significant and emotional game have a brief go at each other and there is minor spillover afterwards. Shocking stuff I tell ye!

Whatever his faults I would have considered Southgate to be fairly level headed. It must have been a major spill over for this to happen.
