QuoteHit the deck today for the first time, that would put manners on you Not my fault - 2 fellas in front came down and I went into the back of one of them, sommersaulting hoogerland style over them, coming out of the clipless pedals mid air and landing on my side, wasn't too bad at the time (felt a bit sick for a couple of minutes) hip & elbow getting worse as the hours pass.  An oul doll was right behind us in her car, the look on her face was priceless.
;D ;D

I would love to have seen that!

Armagh / Re: The Harps Thread - Defeat at St Pauls

QuoteSo why do you think he is looking a transfer to the Harps biggest rivals.  Is he trying to rub people up the wrong way?

I haven't a clue?

I have asked a few Ogs men I would be friendly with this question. "If you were ever to leave the Ogs, for whatever reason, out of all the Clubs in the land, would you go to the Harps?"  The general concensus of opinion is "NO!".

Ask a Crossmaglen man would he join Silverbridge (and so on) and very few answer yes!

Like I said, I can think of no reason why JP would want to join the Pearse Ogs.

Quote[Are they in mourning at the loss of JP /quote]

I still haven't heard a reason why JP would leave the Harps.

And I don't think a reason exists which would be significant enough to make him leave!  Leaving the Harps is one thing, but to do so and join their biggest rivals would make him a laughing stock in a  Murice 'Mo' Johnston stylee!

GAA Discussion / Re: GAA Hard men (all counties)

Quotethe Grimleys play for nigh on twenty years, and they never run from anyone, ever, and they were up against the odds plenty of time!

I would have to agree with that.  The stick them boys took was unreal - they had to be hauled to the ground to get a free.

But then the game is full of hard men if we're being honest.  The difference between being hard and dirty is that one commands respect and the other will ensure the complete opposite.

Don't believe the hype!!

The rumour mill in Armagh is in full flow and it's unbelievable stuff floating about.  Whoever is behind the stories must be having a laugh.

It does sadden me though to witness so many people who call themselves Harpsmen running around bitching about one thing/person or another and seemingly thriving on all the uncertainty at the minute.

If you go looking for a reason to fall out with your Club you won't be long finding one, but I feel there's a fundamental fault in that way of thinking.  You stand by your Club through thick and thin and if you have a grievance of any kind, bring to the attention of the Committee and let them address it.  There aren't many mind readers about the Club - or any Club for that matter.

I honestly don't think JP will move, and I hope he doesn't.

As a footnote (light hearted), I can't imagine the redner I would have getting changed in a small rural Club with a big Na Clairsigh Ard Mhacha crest tattooed across my torso! :-[  You allegience to the Club has to be a bit deeper than skin deep!
