Thanks for the insights. Looked at ESB. Unfortunately it requires you to prove a residential address in The European Economic Area (EEA), which we up North are not anymore.

Revolut, despite having no branches, might be an option as there may be a workaround for euro cash deposits in the North I will investigate. Thanks

General discussion / opening a Euro bank account
June 22, 2025, 11:57:11 AM
Has anyone from the North got any experience in opening a Euro bank account either in North or South? Need some insights on which bank could offer the following features I need:
Cash deposits
fee free
a debit card

I have no work or home address in South

Thanks

We won 57% of our own kickouts v Armagh (Armagh won 95% of their K outs)
We won 65% of our own kickouts v Donegal (DGL won 63% of their K outs)
We won 62% of our own kickouts v Mayo (Mayo won 75% of their K outs)

The biggest issue is we need to win more of the opposition k outs. as well as improve on our own K out win rate to say 70s. (Armagh 95% could be considered an outlier with the new rules)
Our best sector is on short kick outs where we won 27/29 over the 3 games. Maybe focus on a short K out strategy initially v Cavan.

A couple of decent wing half forwards would help. Daly & Donaghy not showing what is needed for the role over multiple games.

Quote from: cjx on June 05, 2025, 09:45:03 PMClear as day to win with new rules a team needs:
1. A kickout strategy that works
2. Big mobile men up the middle
3. Good strong shooters
  with brains.

You might say what is new but look at Tyrone in that context

Tyrone fail on 1 ( winning between 30% and (at best) 50%. 66% min. Required Armagh have hit near 90% in some matches this year.

Are dodgy on 2. Middle
Teague good but inexperienced
Brennan anonymous (not the cordinator he might be)
Kennedy injured
Kilpatrick flaky
Donnelly does his best but age and speed against him now
Canavan brilliant moments but overall weak, small and takes fancy options too often.

And Weak on 3. Apart from MCCurry shot selection weak (and he hasn't been fed the he needs often enough) Few 40m+ shots worked 20m in from side line. Shooting lines bad.

To make best of what's available this team?
Morgan
Teague ( move up 2nd half Quinn)
Hampsey
Devlin
Meyler
McKiernan
Harte (O'Donnell)
Kennedy
Kilpatrick
McGeary (?)  (R Canavan - last chance)
McDonnell (McElhom)
McCurry
Donnelly
D Canavan

2 black cards - we got zero benefit as it was 12 v 12 in Kerry half as we tried to score whilst 3 tyrone defenders v 1 Kerry fwd all scratching their arse in other half. .. law of unintended consequences

I was behind the dugout.
Ball went over the sideline for a clear Dungannon line ball. L'rory sub jumped out of dugout, grabbed ball & threw it over dugout into crowd. Clarkes player was looking for a replacement ball & saw the L'rory bag of balls on the sideline & opened it to grab a ball. He was then jumped on by subs who threw the bag of balls into the dugout. Pile in started.

Quote from: The_Slug on September 21, 2024, 11:25:02 PMGame started very slowly but then just burst into life, great second half for the neutral. Every time the Clarkes came for loch they answered, loch even had a chance to level it. They'll be hard to console after that one, left everything on the pitch and fair play to them. Proving they'll be a force in years to come if McElhome stays.

Sort of a blessing in disguise that paul donaghy had to go off, with McKee coming on and getting the winning goal.

Donaghy hobbled off but had no issues when sprinting across the pitch to get stuck in to the melee, so the injury must not have been as bad as first thought.

Anyone at the game able to shed some light on what happened and what the loch sideline did? Was hard to catch it all on the tv and then the camera cut away. Seen one loch sub throw a dig I believe, which would be a lengthy suspension.

I couldn't find the result of the 2020 championship. The first game was a draw. Was it shared because of Covid?
Which years were u17?

Carrickmore beat omagh on penalties in 2020 final, played in 2021 I think

Think 2021 and 2022 were u17 seasons.

Thanks. If I had to guess I would have said Coalisland as they put together 4-5 in a row u21's around that time.

Coalisland won 82, and Clarkes won 81

Quote from: Mikhailov on March 07, 2024, 12:57:43 PMWho is the Aidan Corr (Tyrone native) mentioned in the Irish News today who has 100+ appearances in the AFL down under. That's the same number as Conor McKenna but I never heard Corr mentioned before

Maybe he moved to Oz as a child - does anyone know?

Corr is a strong East Tyrone name
Born in Brockagh in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, Corr emigrated to Australia with his family at the age of three

Thank you for that. Interesting to hear that

Will definitely look out for him in the future

More BS from McEntee in his article "Will Tyrone make home advantage count in Healy Park, Omagh? It was once the most feared fortress in Ireland"

Do any of you recall Omagh ever been a fortress.. love to see the evidence. It's one of my biggest worries for the Monaghan game, having to play it in Omagh.

Trade period starts next week - a couple of Irishmen rumoured to be on the move with Pearse Hanley talking to Gold Coast Suns and Zach Tuohy a potential target for North Melbourne.
Not a follower of the sport but interested in Hanleys etc. What sort of team are the Gold Coast Suns?

Aware Brisbane have been cannon fodder the past while.

Suns are in the AFL since 2011 & in 6 seasons have never been in the play off finals, top 8, so I'd say he is swapping like for like

Mayo have peaked...now a very ordinary team.
