Hopefully a few games next week.

It's been only 1 live game per round the last few years, or am I getting that wrong?

From memory there was maybe 1 game per day at the QF and SF stage? open to correction.

It would be good if they would cover all the games, especially when they are at Owenbeg and the infrastructure is in place.

On a related note, any word of the season ticket pass for all the championship games being released?

Quote from: Mario on July 29, 2025, 03:32:07 PMThe only thing i remember Oisin McWilliams doing for the senior team is coming on as a sub and scoring a great point v Dublin in Celtic park in 2023. Has he done anything else to warrant being mentioned on here every month as an option for the future.

You can add Callum Brown to that bracket of being multiple mentions.

Quote from: STREET FIGHTER on July 21, 2025, 05:05:55 PMWas it not Martin Boyle (former Derry Minor Manager) with CM at Loughmacrory?

Not sure, but Boyle and Meenagh coached Dromore together around 2014/15.

Boyle is coaching / managing Loughmacrory this year most likely with the Meenagh connection.

I also think Boyle was drafted in to the Derry management setup in the wake of the Gallagher departure in 2023

Maybe i was a bit harsh, he was a county underage player and is a brilliant free taker. A kicker of 2 point frees is valuable in the game as it is now. It's just I don't think he'd have been in the panel if he didn't head away and he's been away from it a few years. He'd have a chance at it for sure.
My main point is he played for the New York Giants last year. As much as I love gaelic football it's not comparable. Base salary of almost a million dollars if he can make it. Even practice squad players can earn 100k's. He'd be mad not to give it another year or two.

For all we know they could change that rule some random Wednesday like they did with the 50m penalty for tackling the midfield catch last week.

Quote from: red hander on May 30, 2025, 02:08:19 PMThat's 200k Smyth has cost the licence fee payers in couple of years, what with Donna Traynor taking him to cleaners for way he behaved towards her. Time the big wigs in London took action. He's also the guy who always provides cover for Big Trunks. If an ordinary BBC employee sent people dick pics they'd be out the door at speed of light.

Smyth is of good stock

Quote from: bennydorano on March 25, 2025, 09:37:47 AMA tip I got that works a treat (could have been mentioned b4)

For mossy tarmac - non-biological washing powder (cheaper the better). Kills it all stone dead, doesn't lift it off the tarmac tho.

Just sprinkle it on dry, or dissolve and spray?
What about "greening" on paving slabs and fence boards, any cure for that?
No matter what paint I use on my fence, it goes green in a very short space of time again.

I read somewhere about white vinegar and water mix sprayed on green algae on fences. Haven't tried it, but let us know how you get on  :D

More DUP-ing it would seem relating to the same school that was in the news (some news anyway) recently regarding funding

Literally couldn't be up to them at any point, they just can't appear to help themselves.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out or how deep the investigation goes. Will SF take a hard line approach in front of the cameras or use it as leverage behind closed doors to push casement or the likes.

Also saw a clip of ELP basically defending not accepting additional funding from the free state government as part of the north/south bodies for foras na gaeilge because it's an equal balance funding model and that would then mean it wouldn't be equally balanced......despite no need for the north to match the additional money.

Givan, Lyons and ELP all showing leopard like characteristics.

Quote from: SaffronSports on January 31, 2025, 01:33:47 PMI'm a civil servant in the 6 counties. Since wfh began we were 2 days a week. Tbh the job i was doing, that suited as we were sending out a pile of letters so you went in, printed everything off and posted on your office days.

Our job changed last year to using the UC system so all communication switched to online anyway. Around September we were asked to work from home full time for a period (due to the building I'm in needing renovations) but tbh I've been able to do the job in exactly the same way. To be honest my mentality when wfh is I feel I almost need to work a bit harder to justify what I'm doing.

I think the building work is almost done so it looks like we'll be back in the office sometime in February and we'll just have to suck that up.

However, if I got moved to Belfast at some stage I'd genuinely have to think about a job change. I did that for 20 years and I'd sooner go back to my office now 5 days a week than do 2 days in Belfast.

How far are you from Belfast?

35 miles.

Its crazy, myself included, complain about how far we have to work when we actually in comparison to other parts of the world live really close to work..

I'm about 28 miles and going away from traffic so its slightly easier than heading in to Belfast

You are using distance as the measure here. Factor in the time sat in traffic in Belfast which has only got worse since the new grand central station opened. Distance isn't the issue.

I would guess SS would be looking at an hour there and an hour back plus whatever battles to get parking

Quote from: theticklemister on January 11, 2025, 02:29:03 PMOn average, what is a price of a new kitchen back home these days? How much installation on average?

What companies did people go with?

My advice would be to seek out a good joiner, pick your kitchen, and they should be able to source the units etc from a couple of wholesalers for a much better price. Obviously, if you're a big hitter, which you are, the stone worktops and boiling / fizzy water taps will cost you 😁

We got a new kitchen 2/3 years ago and that's what we did, got a joiner who specialises in kitchens, there's one place (think it's in Derry) that provides your kitchen doors, he'd a  brochure and she picked the doors, he then gutted the kitchen, I took up the existing tiles, saved a couple of hundred but wouldn't bother as it was a bitta effort, he also took the wall down off a back room that extended the kitchen, he provided the sparks and plumber, paid them separately but they all were there on time and good job.

He's done 4 houses in our street, currently across the street at a neighbours now. He's a perfectionist and did a great job.

I'd say we saved thousands rather than going to a kitchen showroom and paying them..

Yeah, wondered why he was commentating and not playing on Sat night, quality player. So retired from club also?

Not retired from club. Didn't commit to the hurling this year as far as I know. Now that he's retired from inter county, I wouldn't be surprised to see him back hurling with the club next year.
