Who is/was over Derrylaughan?
Also, who is over Galbally? I don't think a team has went 15/15 in intermediate, they could be the team to do so.

A few years ago I think both Rock and Edendork went 14/15 in Division 2 and Edendork went up because they won the head to head - nearly sure that is correct

I think Edendork won 13/15, and we won 12. We drew with kildress and killyman and lost to edendork therefore losing out on head to head. Dont know who edendorl dropped the points to.

Confirmed -

2018 Junior County Champions - Rock

3 relegations to Junior in 5 season's now. There's no deterrent for the Rock to avoid relegation as they will go on another run in Ulster and could possibly win an All-Ireland. The sad thing is I actually believe that if the Rock stayed up they would have had a good year in Intermediate next season.

You're writing there clarshak as if they made the choice to throw the match today when you know full well that wasn't the case. Clubs like the rock and derrytresk and whoever else yo yo up and down and get a bad press because people assume they nearly aim for relegation. It's total crap to suggest that.

Gutted to be going down again but Derrytresk deserved the win yesterday. We were very poor in the second half and panicked when we conceded the second goal. We had enough possession in the last 10 mins to get something from the game but we had lost composure on the ball and our attacks were a bit aimless. To be honest our problem this season was picking up just 3 points in the first 11 league games, thats the reason we were relegated, not yesterday.

To suggest any team would be happy to be relegated is ridiculous. I can tell you there is no one from our club happy be be going down again.

Would the likes of ourselves and derrytresk going up and down, and Cookstown a few years ago provide an argument that 4 divisions of 12 would help teams find their level and compete in a realistic division? It would also help in division 1 where there is effectively 2 leagues, top 8/10 and the rest.

Didn't see too many Junior teams in Tyrone complaining when Rock decided to drop down to Junior level again at the end of 2015 or Tattyragh/Owen Roes/Brocagh/Castlederg when Rock put them out this year
Rock aren't short on men with county experience themselves  (Girvan, McGarrity, Gourley, M McCreesh etc)
No idea what the story is but if Martin McCreesh had been available they would likely be champions tonight

Aye good man, we decided to drop down a division! We were relegated fair and square unfortunately.

We gave a good account of ourselves yesterday but just came up short. Very proud of the lads effort and no complaints about senior teams etc, we just didn't manage to get over the line!

Hopefully we can stabilise in intermediate now.

Rock we're beat by loughmacrory in play off last year..........who benefitted most from that and are having a memorable season?

Would have thought Loughmacrory benefitted more? From escaping relegation they went onto win the Ulster Intermediate League and reached the promotion playoff places this season.

As a Rock man i get your point about about it being hard to get excited about another Junior championship but what would you prefer the players do?? They had a very poor year and were deservedly relegated so you feel sorry for yourself and wallow in division 3 or do you do your best to get back out of it??

They had a poor start to the season but got it together to win a championship and promotion. Competing in ulster is an added bonus and luckily we have done well in it.

I would preferred to have avoided relegation last year and finished around mid table this year than win a tyrone and ulster junior championship but we found ourselves in division 3 so we gave it a lash same as we do every year regardless of what division we're in.

Last Sunday Our Senior team had -

2 players over the age of 30
2 players who are a parent

Young single man's game now I'm afraid
Or people get married and have kids later in life now.

Our senior and reserve games were played at 1pm and half 2 last Sunday and i thought it was an improvement. Left an extra hour in the evening to spend with family or do whatever.

Still don't think there would be much appetite from CCC to change from the 2.15/3.45 slots.

Was that not for Bruce ?  ;) ;)

I think it was for the boss alright. Suited me anyway and i had no notion of going to see him!

Have to say the rule in Div 3 for playing the reserve game as 13 aside is starting to be abused by some clubs. I completely understand why the rule was brought in to help clubs with smaller numbers to field. But it's now being turned around by some clubs where even when they have 18 boys they still opt to play 13 a side. We've had 2 reserve games this year and both have been 13 aside. Yet both other clubs had more than 17-18 players. Surely for reserve football it should be as much about getting boys game time as much as everything else. Frustrating when you're trying to keep a panel of players happy and trying to get them as much game time as possible.
I believe Antrim have a similar rule, but that if you have 15 players then you have to play 15 a side. And the 13 a side only comes into play if you actually have less than 15 players. Might be something to look at.

The competition rules should be written in as 15-a-side with 13 optional if you don't have the numbers, idiotic if it was set up as a 13-a-side specifically but I know of a few examples in other counties of these antics due to poorly worded rules. Put a motion in to the county convention.

Yeah that would be an improvement. I think at the minute a club can choose to play 13 a side. Which is fine if you only have 13/ 14 players but a bit of a joke if you have 16-17.

I thought you had to play 15 if you had 15 there, but again that could be manipulated too. As you say, it should be about given lads games in the main. Surely a sub on these teams that elect not to field 15 would be very unhappy.

We've had two games this year so far and both have had 16-17 players but elected to play 13 a side. Just disappointing when you could have 4 players more involved in the game from the start. Just seems counter productive as the reason for the rule in the first place was to try and get more confirmed games.

Sarsfields you'll have to brush up on your counting skills! We had 15 players on Sunday and one of them wasn't fully fit which is he he only came on with a couple of minutes to go even though we were winning the game comfortably.

I accept your point about teams using the rule for their own benefit but just wanted to set the record straight for my own club.

Thanks Clarshack, that makes it all ok then  8) lol

was a yellow card at most anyway imo. gareth's reputation got him sent off and not the actual offence itself.

If drawing your boot off a defender who is carrying the ball out of defence while Stewartstown were defending a one point lead in injury time is only a yellow card offence then I guess you're right Clarshack! Never mind the fact that if said referee had any balls Gareth and his nephew Cathal would have been sent off long before that incident for continually roaring and swearing the referees face!

Who was the ref?

Not sure of his name, Trillick man. Had a decent enough game with decision making, just a bit weak on being intimidated by the Devlins.

Reports in the paper today suggest that Ciáran Gourley suffered a serious injury at a club game on Sunday. Anyone confirm?

Confirmed...we had a friendly in Enniskillen against the Gaels on Sunday and it looks like the cruciate is gone again. Shocking bad luck, 3rd time it has happened to him.

Spot on Orangeman. The club didnt have the names or signature in Irish and the €100 fee wasn't included along with the appeal. As a Rock man i'm glad the appeal didnt work in our favour as i felt our club was very much in the wrong to protest in the first place!

Still not much consolation for Derrylaughan though!

Just after readin my last post and realised it might be a bit confusing! Id like to give away 2 hurling tickets and get 2 football tickets back in their place. Sorry for the confusion but it is a Monday morning!!

Lads id be interested in swapping 2 hurling final tickets in return for 2 football final tickets. They are 10 year tickets so i can guarantee that i will have them, they should be arriving in the post some of these days. They are quality lower cusack tickets section 304. Ideally id like to hear from someone who also has 10 year tickets so that they can guarantee me the football tickets straight away. Id assume there will be some scramble for tickets in Waterford after yesterdays performance so this could be suitable for some of their supporters. If anyone is interested pm me. Cheers!

Looks like it could be a tough year for Edendork and the clarkes in Division 2! Moy gettin beat at home was another shock, should be an interesting year in this division.

Disappointed my own club (Rock) dropping points at home but after being 9 points down after 15 minutes we made a great comeback and just ran out of time to snatch a draw!
