St Enda's have paid nought in recent years with various club men at the helm. Word is Larry Strain and Barry McGinn are stepping down. If so, big shoes to fill after landing the O'Neill Cup and getting to the Ulster Club final.

Well it was discussed before and there had been a rumour going around that Omagh pleaded to get into to division 2 because they didn't think they could win div 1 which IMO goes against all grading principles!

I dont think Omagh wanted to go to grade 2 because they didnt think they would win grade 1.  They wanted to go because they wanted to be competitive.  IMO this present Omagh minor team wouldnt win the grade 2 either.  This is not me being disrespectful to Omagh either.

I think most would agree the U16 Omagh team that won the U-16 Grade 2 double would have been very competitive in division 1 - they probably would not have won it but they would definetly not have finished last.

For a team like omagh to win so much at U-16 in grade 1 in the recent past to ask to drop to division 2 last year was bad form IMO.

If this principle was allowed and applied for every team there would only be 6-8 teams in div 1 every year.

Your club has a grade 1 only policy I would say you had many a manager with the temptation of dropping a grade to walk to a title but didn't do it!

God almighty WT4E, you keep banging this drum.
Here are a few facts you omitted. As you aware and carefully not mentioned, Kildress U16s beat Omagh U16s home and away in 2015 Grade 2B league section. Your beloved Wolfe Tones topped the group on 15 points with Omagh squeezing into the league playoffs in 4th place on 9 pts. In fact, Omagh lost more games in this section than won (w4, l5, d1 against Kildress w7, l2 d1). Not the form of a Grade 1 team playing at a Grade 2 level. Pomeroy who came 5th in the same section and 9pts behind Kildress are plying their trade in Minor Grade 1 as well this year.
Looking at this U16 Grade 2B table year end, most observers would think the table toppers would challenge themselves at a higher grade the next year which would better equip the 2017 Kildress minors when they goto Grade 1 having topped Grade 2B league section in 2015. Omagh U16s in 2014 never won a game in Grade 1 league and championship. Omagh U14s in 2013 played at Grade 2. Loughmacrory defeated them by 20 points+. Again not the form of a Grade 1 team.
Like all clubs we strive for teams to be Division 1 / Grade 1 but just have to accept that some years and squads will be stronger than others. Then the intention is to get them competitive at that level and push on and develop at the higher level. T'is now 2016. Goodbye!!

Welcome to our world lads, we are well used to it, although we can't figure it out.
I still can't figure out how Lavery was not given one minute of game time at WHB in any competition this season. Initially I thought Harte didn't want a Mc Ginley/Lavery whb combo, but then it turns out he has been playing Mc Ginley at whf in some league games and in the in house matches prior to the team selection fro Sundays game, but low and behold after telling Lavery at the start of the season he saw him as a half forward, he is now playing him at whb in the in house matches.
The problem for MH is that a lot of players are excellent in their own right but not at the level of the players from 2003/2005/2008 so hard to distinguish between equal abilities. All opinions. Hopefully they do the business. Alternative team for Sunday would easily give Down a game:

Goals = Michael o'Neill
Backs = PJ, Justin, Dermy
McNabb, Gormley, Lavery

Mid = Grugan, Plunkett Kane
Forwards = Penrose, Ronan, Shay McGuigan
Stevie, Mark Donnelly, McAliskey

Subs = 2 McKennas, Hughes, Big Joe

It's turning out to be one hell of a year for the Rahilly men. Complete domination.

Complete championship domination by the 'East' in Grade 1 in 2013.
Under 14 & 18 – Ardboe
Under 16 - Fianna
Under 21 & Seniors – Clonoe
Reserves – Clonoe / Fianna
The balance of playing power certainly in the East. The West's not Awake!

heard it was a good game in the loughshore down until the last 10,where ardboe killed it off. ardboe to win G2 & cookstown to win G1, can't see past it.

Is it true Carmen & Killyclogher are appealing the county board decision to put Greencastle in the semi-final? If so, it may have a while to run yet!
Was speaking to a Cappagh man yesterday on the same. He mentioned that has all 3 teams finished level and without Kildress scores then the CCC were using 'scores for' between those games. He said CCC didnt have many options open unless the 3 teams played each other in a round robin series again!!! Unless lads away, surprised Kildress not fielding as they reached the minor final 3 years ago. Tommo2 as a cappagh gael what's your solution??? Greencastle won't be far away with Warnock & McCullaghs.

Omagh win the first battle with Clonoe-the troops are being rallied.

Darn that. Maybe we should do without even turning up tomorrow.

Was told by an Omagh man few days ago that Omagh would do very well in ulster and all Ireland series if they could get out of Tyrone.

Now they're wearing white it seems it's all over. Cross must be trembling

One wit has suggested that although they have the white jerseys they also include the virtual yellow streak up the back

Rocky mcguigan hasn't gone away ::) Cheers F.a.b. can always rely on you for your fb comments ;) Most frequent browser around championship time. Plenty of sarsfields in the main stand today. First time seen them support a team in black & white  ;D ;

Tough, tough match again for Omagh today. Showed great resolve to get the last point after Cullyhanna equalized. Quality young side in Cullyhanna coming through. Is Burren the only winners of this competition to date? The final against Mayobridge will be another nervy affair.

Omagh 0.15 ,Donaghmore 1.5 , final score Tyrone u21 grade 1 championship final , at Augher.

Congratulations to Naomh Eanna U21s. Since losing the Minor championship final replay to Ardboe in 2008, more or less the same group of  players have won 3 Minor Leagues, 2 Minor championships, 2 U21 Championships, 1 Ulster Minor club and reached 1 Ulster U21 Club Final. Three years undefeated at U21 level ;) Will it translate to senior success or even an appearance in a senior final? The jury will always be out until done. At least on the right track!

Beware Omagh-they will be unloading the extra friends, flags  and cuddly toys for the semi final. Heaven help Dromore/Ardboe. Imagine the crescendo and outpourings of fanmania from the St Enda's facebook site if they make the final ;D
Rocky you have a fascination with this site alright. Most frequent browser. Have to admit omagh had fab support in numbers up at the game. Seen a few of your fellow sarsfields ones up at the game. For the semi final run up sure become a friend of the St Enda's facebook site ;) There's a number of sarsfields already friends  ;D

lol you lot are laughable....few of you seem to have been at the game, so don't know what happened, yet want the Moortown man named and shamed.

I can tell you that McMahon started the row between the two players and hit his marker a dig, he then realised he messed with the wrong man.

I really hope Joe is ok, but lets not pretend he in whiter than white!

Don't know what there is to laugh about. The truth will always come out especially this time given the profile. The above is a load of cr@p and no doubt will be proven. The so called 'row' constituted of a single punch. The assailant (legal speak required!) felled the injured party from behind. Didn't take too many people too long to work out who it was when his assailant was right beside him. Agree on not naming the assailant but at the time the individual's identify was known and now subsequently the assailant's name!!

Now that the County Board will be conducting a full investigation, will the Moortown club internally discipline the assailant? Will the Moortown club be seen to be taking a stand in saying this thuggish behavior is not tolerated in 'our club'? Will the assailant play this weekend against Dromore when the injured party has his jaw wired up and can only take liquid foods? Hopefully the County Board will pursue this investigation with the same vigour as on-field incidents last year in which no player was hospitalized or injured.

What is the precedent or accepted punishment if a club's player breaks an opponent's jaw off the ball with the ball at the other end of the field? Should the club be banned from playing home games for the remainder of the year? I don't believe the club should suffer as the result of one player's actions (in a game in which there were no other incidents), however if the club don't put forward the assailant's name then what options are left to the County Board to reprimand (punish) the assailant? Could be wrong but think a Drumragh player recently took up a court case from a broken jaw received in league game.

Will not comment any further on this case. No doubt 'jimmylong' will continue to spawn lies and try to distort the facts. More importantly hope Joe is on the recovery road now and that he suffers no setbacks in getting back to his daily routine.

Think we'll wait and hear what happened before naming and shaming.

Cowardly and thuggish act. Single punch from behind. Game officiated by Cathal O'Hagan. This incident was missed by match official and majority of the crowd. Broken jaw in 2 places with a number of teeth knocked out. Currently he is in Altnagelvin Hospital undergoing surgery. What a way to start the club season for him  >:(

Justin McMahon misses Omagh's next championship game,no matter what date it's on.

Will he miss league games over the next month or is it just suspension from championsip for being sent off in the championship?

Would expect him to be suspended from all games including league ones that fall in the next 4 weeks. Plus next championship game whenever its scheduled.
