I see today in the Racing Post today that Ladbrokes are not paying out on trappatoni as the next rish manager ?????

explain that one, he had a press conference, waving an irish scarf above his head etc.... are they hoping he will die before the first match so they wont have to pay ? ;D

Well,  When a bookie thinks a 2 way outcome is has a 50 50 chance of happening they go 5/6 and 5/6. 2 odds on prices and only one winner.
Maybe beyond you though as you said yourself.  :-*

I remember watching a pitcher in a Major League game throwing a high looping ball that dropped right on top of home plate and the batter couldnt get near it. Has anyone else seen this or was I dreaming??

Sounds like the pitcher threw a Knuckle Ball Pitch  (real name). The pitcher grips the ball with his knuckles just above the finger nail and lets loose.
The rotation that comes from this pitch is insane, it can drop or move left/right more than 12 inches. But the real problem with the pitch is control, half the time you don't where the ball is going to end up.

Tim Wakefield of the Red Sox one of the last remaining few guys that pitch this way

Do you really expect any of us to go and back these. Proper information is needed or you are just wasting your time and ours.

There has been a man standing at the bottom of my lane since last Wednesday. He's holding a stick. What should I do?

Just spark up a conversation regarding the weather so you can get a better feel for what sort of man he is. Also make direct eye contact but dont get to close so as he can hit you with the stick
