His subsequent goal in the All-Ireland quarter-final against Meath, when he rushed 60 yards before unleashing an unstoppable shot, is just another snapshot of a great career.

Does anyone know if there is anywhere to see this goal? youtube perhaps?

12. F McMeel- Augher

Is Fran an important player in the Augher team these days? does he play out on the half forward for the club too?

I haven't seen him playing since underage...

Interesting Paddy Heaney article today.  In a twisted heaney - esque way is he trying to get Mellon 8/12 weeks and ultimately get his revenge on the Moy letterwriter who questioned his jouralistic integrity not even 2 weeks ago.

Any chance of someone posting this article??

Didnt go into details, moy man you have to expect the county players to get special treatment, I no if kildress had county players i wouldnt like it either but its just part of the game...

Why didnt the ref send of any kildress players if they were that bad?

I totally understand that they will get special attention, i have no problem with that and the lads themselves are aware that its coming. But when you dont get any protection from the officials AT ALL. questions need to be asked.

The referee should have put his authority on the game earlier to cut the bad challenges out, thus letting a game of football develop. The problem was the fouls weren't punished and so the perpetrators knew they could continue to get away with it.

BTW the referee wasn't missing everything, he continously blew up for picking the ball off the ground, even at times when it seemed to be picked up correctly. Knows some of the rules then

Sam; just wondering about your opinion on the melee that broke out in front of the stand before half time when Mellon got sent off.

How could the refferee have singled out Mellon alone? I can admit that Mellon did strike out but he was by no means the only one!!!

I dont think anyone from Kildress even got booked??!!!

From what you've heard, what was the reason they should have got the line??

As a neuteral at the game im surprised you have such a different opinion on the way the game panned out than Sam 03/05.

Have you some personal dislike of the Cavanagh brothers?

You say diving around looking frees, yet i have read on this thread that they were being dragged and rugby tackled every time they got the ball!!! - yes great tactics by Kildress to dump Moy out of the O'neill cup :-\

Good luck to yous in the remainder of the Championship, fully deserved QF place

Its good to see the Moy men on crying already. Poor wee Sean is only 6'3 and poor wee Colm is only 6'4. If they would quit crying on the field and concentrate a bit more on playing maybe you would be in the next round of the championship.

If it was a county game Amigo, and the lads were being dragged down almost every time they were on the ball - blantantly interupting passages of play - which could have (we'll never know) have resulted in scores. Would you not be angered????

The fact is that they are trying to concentrate on playing the game but aren't being given the opportunity or protection that everyone deserves and usually gets.

If Kildress had have concentrated on playing football yesterday evening there is no doubt in my mind that they would NOT be in the next round of the championship. Moy would have wiped them aside and Kildress knew this before the game.

Moy 2.04 Kildress 1.05 HT

Mini skirmish before half time Mellon sent off. Possible straight red even tho he already had a yellow. Will that leave him out for Tyrone?

Moy 2.02 Kildress 1.05

Wind favouring Moy in the first half, No rain, but conditions considerably damp.

Moys first goal a penalty from Mellon, second well takin goal from laverty.

Ball bounced over two men for Kildress goal

what happened at the carmen / errigal match ? were officials involved ? why should the ref have sent off these men ? was there fighting ? who was referee ? had he umpires with him ?

I have read this board for over a year now regarding Tyrone football in particular as i am working abroad as its a fantastic way of keeping up to date, but lately all the news from any league fixtures seems to be about rows starting and escalating and spectators getting involved. And people like Orangeman (no personal attack intended) seem to be thriving on finding out all the details.

With the bad publicity thats been going on in recent weeks about the state of Tyrone football with regards to fighting etc. I wondered did journalists read this board as a way of researching a story to find out information.

I cant but but somehow feel like the guys on here are helping the journalists by providing all the information here as they do provide a vivid insight to their opinions of what happened.

Some people who were at the Carrickmore EC match have explained that nothing much happened yet almost instantly people started thinking the worst and expecting it to be worse than it was before finding out the details from a more reliable source.

Can we not get back to talking about the good points of the game sometime soon rather than always the negative. :P
