Messages - Would ye whist

Cheers I think that is his plan, however I think its just mad that people work hard and get put into a corner, the £100k is not handed to him, puts in long hours, lots of trips away and leads a modest lifestyle.

I believe in a 'welfair state' as opposed to 'welfare'

He needs to bump his pension up to bring himself back under £100k.

Been there, a great spot, however be careful to check you are not travelling during storm season as some of the storms can get pretty rough

Quote from: 5times5times on January 20, 2026, 10:27:00 AMA bit further afield, but have any of ye been to the Dominican Republic before? I read last night TUI are doing direct flights from Belfast?

A lot of the all-inclusives looks to be on-par with cancun/mexico etc?

Takes a brave {insert other appropriate words} to take the wife's name

My wife kept her name for work as she had built her reputation/work following with her maiden name but has her married name on all official docs etc

Quote from: AustinPowers on January 16, 2026, 10:42:07 AMWhere do you stand  on the wife not taking the husbands  surname?

Or  the husband taking the wife's surname?

Quote from: Would ye whist on December 03, 2025, 10:41:47 AMMany years ago working in a volatile industry with lots of young people in an 'professional' environment, however dominated by money, drugs, drinks and s*x, the Christmas parties were to say the least fun. The one that sticks out the most was just after the meal there was one guy throwing up on the corner of the dance floor, another young lady shouting and crying at one of the older married managers and shouting 'you can't just f*ck me and chuck me' all topped off two lads clumping the head off each other 30 mins later. I decided to leave it at that point and went for a few quiet pints round the local social club

When you put it away for the winter what do you do about the first cut of the season next year?

Quote from: Mad Mentor on November 03, 2025, 06:54:09 PMI got the Segway X315E in July this year and it has been brilliant. I have about 1000m2 of grass in two lawns, one of which has a decent enough slope and the other has several big trees. I just let it map the boundary itself and mapped where the septic tank is as a no-go area and gave it a route between the two lawns. It avoids the trees no bother. I had it cutting every second day with the weekends off. So far it has mowed 28.5Km2 and the app reckons it has saved me 141 hours. I need to bring it in for the winter soon but I think it will need one more cut at least. It cost me €2550.

I have to apologise to TTM, it was clear he was right and I was disrespecting his Cargin by only predicting 15 points, it is clear it should have been a prediction for a much bigger margin

I am aware of who was in charge, however their playing staff is not the same nor does it seem their cohesion

Take the tinfoil off pal

Quote from: Take the Mark on September 12, 2025, 09:43:43 AMIt will and I know what you are hoping for.

btw, McGrath was in charge in 2023, injury time winner for Cargin.

This is a completely different Aghagallon set up than there was in those two instances, I am not sure why you think it was so ludicrous, in any event tonight will tell the tale

Quote from: Take the Mark on September 11, 2025, 08:24:47 PMPoint being the ridiculous prediction on the Cargin game from a man bizarrely claiming to be from Cargin when hes not.

He knows what hes trying to do, and so do I.

Why is that a ridiculous prediction? Aghagallon finished 13th in the league and were beat by Ahoghill in the group stage.

Ballymena finished 4th in that same league and are in a relegation playoff.

Aghagallon reached 2 of the last 4 SFC finals (were 9 up in 1 of those, lost AET) and lost by a point to Cargin in 2023's quarter final. That enough evidence?

Isn't every prediction speculative

As for relegation play off I can see you are still intent on that, fair play

Quote from: Take the Mark on September 11, 2025, 02:54:32 PMA tad speculative there Would Ye Whist, but anyway - how do you think your boys will get on in the relegation playoff?

Streamline? 16 teams? You might want to look up the definition of streamline my friend

Quote from: Na Glinntí Glasa on September 09, 2025, 10:13:05 AMLast year there was a cosy gathering of clubs that wanted to ensure that it was D1 league = senior championship.

All going on in the back ground wanting the senior championship to be division 1 clubs + intermediate championship winners.

The county were forced to streamline SFC to a maximum of 16 teams due to a change in the Official Guide regulations in 2023.
