No way in the world that's a Dingle free to start with, could say fouled by Dingle nos. 8 & 12.

Thats a f**king disgrace.

+1 Has to be one of the worst decisions I have seen in a long time.

Not good when you look at it,although it was a good kick.

Quote from: From the Bunker on December 06, 2025, 10:55:29 PMThe Government do little to encourage youngsters to stay in rural Ireland.

They are too busy keeping the EU and our paymasters happy since 2009. I suppose when you are up to your tits in debt and lost your sovereignty you don't have much choice.

Ireland has fairly balanced regional development, there are problems in all areas.
The bigger problem is that people do not have children even if they stay.
The country has to pay its way, and it is doing rather well.

Perhaps. Presumably the guy who did it took the number of players in the report and divided by the population of the county in some way.

Quote from: Evil Genius on December 05, 2025, 04:21:44 PMI shall indulge your "whataboutery" for the moment, by pointing out that soccer is played/supported/administered in all parts of NI, by all communities. The NI Schools Cup, for example, attracts over 100 entrants every year, comprising state and fee-paying schools, grammar, comprehensive, integrated, technical and Irish language schools from all areas. How does that compare eg with its GAA equivalent, the MacRory Cup?
Whilst all our representative sides, men and women, boys and girls are similarly mixed. The current Manager of the Senior Mens team, Michael O'Neill is ex-GAA, as is his Captain, Conor Bradley.
And I can tell you from my own, direct experience that there are more NI supporters from the Nationalist community than you might imagine - even if they don't broadcast it widely.

Anyhow, this is a GAA forum, so back to your Demographics, eh?

Soccer is based on an sectarian entity, any of the above is mere mitigation.

Quote from: gallsman on December 03, 2025, 06:54:24 PMYou need minimum of ten years contributions to qualify for a partial pension. Between 16 and finishing school you'll have received credit, so I imagine like me you'll get 3 qualifying years.

You can choose to voluntarily pay contributions like a lot of us did a few months back to make up the shortfall, although you can now only go back six years and they're closing the loophole where you can pay a cheaper class.

Did the one close in April?

It can't be re-visited again now?

Before April you could buy back years 2006-2019, which I did. But you can still go back 6 years.

It's the ordinary civilians in Ukraine and the soldiers Putin is using as cannon fodder who'll bear the brunt as per.

Do you know of many governments that aren't corrupt?

Where there are people, there will be corruption. But there is a huge difference between Russia and the Nordic countries or Switzerland.

If you have the 3 years credit, and do not manage to add the required years, then you can still add these years in when claiming your Irish pension. When combining different systems there is no 10 minimum, although you might not get very much.

Quote from: seafoid on December 03, 2025, 10:36:46 AMOn this day in 1925 the Brits and the Free State agreed the borders of OWC and the Border Commission was ignored. Practically the Border separated users of Boxing Day from users of Stephen's Day.

They also removed the need for the Freestate to contribute to UK debt. So the net outcome of the deal was that the British bought South Armagh for about £50,000 a head in modern monetary values.
I think this financial write-off by the Brits was a huge factor.

It certainly helped.
But the boundary commission was banjaxed by the Civil War. The anti-treaty crowd trying capture Kerry delayed the start of its operation and ensured that the border became established.

The usual bollix from PBP in not applauding Zelensky in the Dáil yesterday, what do you expect?
However, it is clear that several SF TDs also did a Connolly in having a short applause to make some sort of statement.
On what planet does an Irish nationalist act in a begrudging way towards another country being bullied by a bigger neighbour who denies its right to a separate existence? What rabbit hole have these people disappeared into?

Russia is prepared to go to war with Europe, Vladimir Putin has declared, as he accused leaders from the Continent of trying to scupper his peace talks with the US.
Whose side would Trump be on?!

Or Catherine Connolly?
