I think you should look into it again. Poacher, Poland and Franklin are not in Louth.

S Poacher:
Leitrim

M Poland:
Down LGFA

T Franklin:
Rostrevor

Murray, Morgan, McCartan and McAlinden I believe are in Louth. We also have J McCartan and  L Coulter in Monaghan (Clontibret), R McShane in Armagh (Shane O'Neills), R McMahon in Armagh (Clan Na Gael) but I believe Pete McGrath may have left Antrim (Aghnagallon).

What is it about tap and go that would suit McEvoy? How is he going to lie down on the ground and look at the ref shaking his head every time he's touched and tap and go at the same time? Does this at both club and county level, good player but some real childish antics that top players do not do.
Ed as much as I like the lad Finn Murdock as a footballer is not the answer at full back, at least I hope not as he is turned far too easy and he doesn't have the demanding presence or pace. I cant comment on McGeary havent seen him but another experienced player into the fold why not if he trains well he'll play if he doesnt he wont. An out and out FB we do struggle and have for years, however we also dont have any defender to the calibre of Ohagan since his prime and certainly have no forwards anywhere near the quality of any of the 2010 crew so question I pose is why are we not developing this quality anymore? Ryan Johnson being the notable exception in my view and thats just in the last couple of years

Correct Supersub, 100% agree.

However, In my opinion, he is not a strong enough referee for a county final. I did think he was poor and I have no links to either club. I dont believe every referee deserves a county final etc. Some are not strong enough for it. In my opinion if the same referee has to do it a few times then thats how it has got to be but it must be a strong ref that doesn't be influenced and makes own decision and is a strong character. Not easy find but I do give mentions to

Brendan Rice
Colm Gribben
Paul Faloon
Kevin McGrath
Darren Ohare
Ciaran Branagan

As the only referees in the county I see fit for finals. Yes they all have faults and may make mistakes as they are human but I don't believe anyone outside this list are strong enough characters for big games.

In this case though the ref was not the issue and Burren have only got themselves to blame

I actually agree that he was shocking by way of consistency. Burren did back chat etc all around scoring area which is brainless but I also saw R McEvoy, McCusker and N Branagan back chatting and no punishment. The Dads foot out was a clear card. However, in the same breath, no matter what referee took charge Burren where poor to rubbish and their 'county men' where nowhere to be seen. Some really poor attacking football from them. These boys appear to get all they need at juvenile level but something isn't working when they get to senior. Best team won regardless of anything else simple as that

It certainly is a worry when that Kilcoo team is winning our championship. They are nowhere near the standard they where when they won the All Ireland and its a poor reflection that other teams even beat them where they are now but still credit to them they are top team in the county. One thing thats learned today for sure is the Michael Moore is a poor ref and that Burrens so called big players are not in fact big game players. As bad of 60 mins of forward play I have seen. Poor Final for the neutral unfortunately

Kilcoo are a better team than Burren, Burrens main men hide against kilcoo (Murdock, Magill & Kerr). However lt still has to be said that Micheal Moore is a poor quality referee who never played the game at any level and is certainly swayed by teams, supporters and sidelines. He has had one to many poor games. Poor final so far one score from play is it in first half? Burren very poor going forward, Dabs probably deserved a card for the boot out considering what else cards have come out for. Dont think there is any question on the result here though

Yes it has been very poor. In particular the games outside of Newry. Games in Liatroim Mayobridge etc all poor.

On the other side of this, there was a good crowd at intermediate final this evening, wouldn't a capacity Crowd at the county ground for a double header be a much better atmosphere for county finals

Yes Castlewellan & Shamrocks, An Riocht, Annaclone, Atticall, Warrenpoint, Longstone, Mayobridge, Newry Bosco, Tullylish, Drumaness, Teconnaught, Saval (Unconfirmed). All word of mouth could be less or could be more. Some parted with outside managers during the year and maybe will continue with club people that filled in.

County Finals weekend not even upon us yet and the rumours of vacancies of club football manager hot seats is more than I think I have ever heard. Is there a club in Down finished with competition that have the same man for next year? Merry go round starts again

Are many clubs, particularly the lower division clubs, going to struggle to field Friday & Monday league games at the business end of the season and also field in the PR/R championship on Sat/Sun? 3 games in 4 days for some in already struggling teams. The 2 weeks break is pointless if we come back to an overload of games just before championship. Needs reviewed

Agree with wobbler, timely approaches should be accommodated where possible. I do think some teams try it for anything such as players away on weekends away etc which i suppose dont need to be accommodated but for a current players wedding that should absolutely be accommodated by the other club, I would also go as far as the county board should take control of any situations involving a wedding or funeral, if hurling is an issue then they get an extra few days for a suitable refixture. A players shouldn't have that pressure around his wedding and a dual club shouldnt be punished but should accommodate

Probably should be a small concession for terrace id agree on that part, no my argument though, £25 to watch 4 intercounty teams 2.5 hours of football is for me good value. If it was too much for people the game was also shown on TV. There are many more games on tv now compared to when the season was not as condensed but again thats another grumble people have, put the finals back to September and dont have such a condensed season then the same people grumble about watching county club championships in November in the muck and gutters... the GAA fixture makers have no chance

The facilities available arent much different, the quality of facilities maybe. Food available (probably nicer at country kitchen in Pairc Esler than Croke Park food), toilets... yes not as clean and up to date as Croke Park, a bar... Newry doesnt have or at least im not sure if you can slip into shamrocks bar at Half time or between games. Im confused a bit, its maybe not really about the price etc of taking kids to a double header in Newry,  its about not being able to spend more money at the higher quality more expensive facilities in Dublin. Either way just agree to disagree, I think £25 is fine for a Taitleann and All Ireland Group final game knockout. You dont agree, all opinions
