Some amount of spite from Mayo and Tyrone posters! (not all)

A defining moment of the championship this year was immediately after the Dublin-Mayo Armagh-Galway group games. Mayo and Galway both missed out on topping their groups in almost identical circumstances with last second points be the oppposition. Galway wipe themselves down and get on with it. Mayo management, player and fans all despondent say it's impossible to progress playing 3 games in 3 weeks!  Then after a super performance v Dublin they play horrendously v Derry, and still nearly won. I've no doubt they would have beaten Derry and Kerry with a proper attitude and who knows what happens after that.

And some Tyrone posters have embarrassed themselves. Long may those lads dwell in Armagh's glory!

The best two teams this year in the final and it was an enthralling affair. Loved the game. Hard luck Galway, my learning would be you're not actually reliant on Walsh and Comer as I thought you were. If they are not 100% fit, then the next lad in is good enough to be the better option. You do have strength in depth.

But almighty congrats to Armagh. Some absolute wonder scores kicked today. Jarlaith deserved this. Geezer deserved this. Enjoy!!

Former Mayo senior footballer Ger Brady has died aged 44 after a battle with Motor Neurones Disease.  He won an All-Ireland Senior Club Championship medal with his club Ballina in 2005 was a brother of David.

Its Ger Brady from Claremorrris , not Ger Brady ballina . Terribly sad news , may he rest in peace.

So so sad to hear this news . He was a gentleman who loved mayo and knockmore football so much . Thoughts and prayers for his family . Rest in peace Deelin .

Stayed in the helm apartment s in westport a few times not a hotel but adjacent to the helm bar found it great value, they were very helpful organised sea fishing for us when we were there. The apartment s were spotless

Was driving on saturday so turned on the radio to listen to the match on Radio 1 when low and behold who was co commentator but Joe Brolly . Straight away my heart went out to the commentator , how the hell was he going to get a word in with Joe the barrister beside him. And so it turned out i didn't know what the hell was goin on as Joe had to be listening to the sound of his own voice. I had to turn it off it was unbearable. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD RTE KEEP HIM OFF THE RADIO PLEASE.

Instead of doing Dublin this year, i am planning to give sea to summit a go in Westport in November, just wondering if anyone on here has done it or knows anything about it, Also, our local 10k is on Saturday at 12 in Tourmakeady, if anyone wants to come along, the race is chipped timed and there is a technical t-shirt too, plenty of tea and sandwiches after!!

Done it a few years ago An Gaelgoir and hope to do it again this year. There is a sprint run and the supreme . The supreme starts with a 4k run from the castlecourt hotel down to the pier , from there you cycle out to croagh Patrick about 8k I think , then its up a down Croagh Patrick (some lunatics go up and down the mountain in less than 50 minutes) after Croagh Patrick you have a 35k cycle (fairly tough I thought ) back to Westport and a 4k run to finish. Really enjoyed the event however this year im going to spend more time training on the bike than I did the previous times that I did the event.

Sure if they are making the players shake hands before games (i hate it) like the premiership this was bound to happen .

as for me personally I have never bashed horan on this forum, however if it's true that Mc loughlin was told not to play and other county player's were allowed to play then he was way out of order

So other county players were allowed to play  Sure that is crazy . Ye should have told horan to sling his hook deelin . Cant imagine when he was manging tubber that he would have allowed the county manager at the time dictate who he should or should not play in a championship match.
