General discussion / Log Cabins
October 30, 2016, 10:07:12 AM
Looking online, seems like a few companies selling residential log cabins. Living abroad and looking at creative solutions for not telling the inlaws to go F*&% themselves when I'm home with herself. Would be grateful to hear from anyone on the thread involved in the building industry and/or if anyone has purchased one. Whats the craic with planning permission? Heating, plumbing maintenance etc. Any info appreciated

Is there any way of getting out of a fixed rate? I fixed mine a while back when rates were rising and am now paying way over the odds; granted, I did'nt have a crystal ball at the time and thought it was a good move but its still a bitter pill to swallow compared to what I could be paying every month. Anyone in the same boat?

How much is a tank of heating oil now? Last time I was home it was about expensive, but this was when the price of oil was 130 dollars plus

The international community has a responsibility to get involved in this conflict. The potential for genocide is too great as many of the rebels are former Interhamwe, members of the Hutu militia that carried out the genocide in Rwanda. They are now actively seeking revenge against Congolese Tutsis. One of the reasons why there was a genocide in 1994 was because of the inaction of the UN and the US, who refused to use the term genocide, thus preventing any peacekeeping forces from taking action against the Militia. It is not enough to just open up an aid corridor and hand out some food parcels; these people are entitled to their Human Rights under the UN declaration and must be protected.

newdevil, I have been living and working outside Ireland for almost ten years and yes, I managed to get a mortgage in Ireland from an Irish bank. It was a bit of a struggle at first, but I went to a mortgage broker and she sorted it out for me. You need to have all your documentation ready, ie letter/ contract from employer, bank statements etc. Good luck!

Just wondering if anyone on the board has property let by management companies. How much commission do they charge? Any positive/negative experiences?

GAA Discussion / mayo v galway youtube techies
May 19, 2007, 02:35:42 AM
Lads- I am currently stationed somewhere in deepest darkest Africa. I won't be able to listen to the game on Sunday; I would really appreciate it if someone could upload the game on youtube so that a poor Gael can follow his team from afar. Any techies from Mayo or even an altruistic Tribesman.....remember you don't pick your team... cheers and here's looking forward to a great game on sunday ;)
