More words of wisdom from you Tyrone GAA. Your side must have been on the end of a defeat from Cookstown last year. No angels winning too many games in Tyrone these days. Nice boys win nothing.

How many of Cookstowns league Games were you at last year?

Was appalled at Clonoe tonight. First 10 minutes they were a joy to watch had 6 points on the board. They then for some reason sat back and tried to be Donegal for the rest of the half with 13 men behind the ball. Colly Dorris was still on the pitch at this stage. When he got sent off Clonoe panicked. Errigal lacked composure. One time after Micky O'Neill decided to take on half the Errigal team they turned him over and had 2 on 1 where a simple fist pass would have resulted in a goal and probably killed the game. Individual brilliance from Ryan O'Neill saved their skins and the timing of the goal knocked Errigal for 6.

I had a perfect view of the scenes at the end. Harte refused a hand shake from Patrick Dorris. Dorris then said something that made Harte stop and turn. Dorris threw 2 punches before Harte lifted a fist. In my opinion Patrick Dorris was instructed to get under Hartes skin which he did very well from before the first whistle. However this was unbelievibly negitive from Clonoe who have the quality in their squad not needing to lower themselves to those tactics. I'd associate that more with Cookstown the way they played their league games last year.

I see that once again the teamtalk website has no report to make about our u21 team getting to the Ulster final, same last week, no comment either. Unfortunately we have become accustomed to this treatment from teamtalk, don't really know what the reason for this is, but it is something that has been noticed around the club for a while now. As far as I know they got a verbal volley after the semi final win over Errigal last season in the senior championship for the same reason. Surely if they can find time for the Ulster league (ie pre season friendlies), or some u16 girls league etc, they could at least make reference to the fact that we are in the Ulster final on their main page.

You're right Mucker it's time we all started buying the Tyrone Courier

Reading with interest the comments regarding Cookstowns recent behaviour.  We had an unpleasant afternoon with them in an Ulster League match.

Again, like previous posts, nothing manly was on show.  Late tackles, nipping, stamping, verbals etc.  Reading here, Ardboe, Carrickmore, Clonoe, Errigal and Augher have all had similar.  The Fr Rocks boys are making some powerful enemies there.  Next year could be interesting for them.

BallinTyrone man lecturing Cookstown on indiscipline. Seen it all now. Go ask Bellaghy, Slaughtneil and Lavey about the behaviour of you supporters and players.

It's beginning to look a lot like the national message board on here. Cookstown are the new Tyrone on here. Perhaps we have just too many good players playing for us at the minute.

But for an unfortunate injury Paul McGurk could easily have been a Tyrone senior player for over ten years.  Legend of a player.  Ryan Pickering and Shea McGarrity were both honoured by an Errigal Ciaran and Carrickmore man to lead Tyrone to Ulster and All Ireland minor titles.

Martin Murray, Raymond Mulgrew, John Gilmore and Conor O'Hare all have an All Ireland minor medal as has Conor Mullan.  Barry Mulligan was man of the match in the 2004 All Ireland minor final.  Sean Cavanagh played on that team. Is it not just a case of things starting to go right for Cookstown?

We've also been bolstered by two excellent management teams in the last five or six years.  Chris Lawn, Declan O'Neill and John McKeever and Scotchy Hagan all have what it takes to progress on to county team management.

We might not have enough to overcome Carrickmore on Sunday but the days of two easy points in Cookstown are at an end for a while perhaps. Keep the abuse coming men it's hilarious how unhappy you all are at townie progress.

Just to a quick count at the fixtures for the week commencing 22 Oct 2013 in the Irish news:

Antrim 14
Armagh 1
Derry 6
Down 13
Fermanagh 7
Monaghan 12
Tyrone 45

Depressing reading for the time of year - are the CCC ever held to account year on year?

Antrim
Championship started 9th August
No promotion or relegation therefore no one cares about the league.

Armagh
Championship started 23rd August
No promotion or relegation therefore no one cares about the league.  Rarely ever complete the fixtures.

Derry
Championship started on 25th July
Promotion and relegation optional.

Down
Championship started on 8th August.

Fermanagh
Only dealing with 20 teams in total.

Monaghan
Championship started on 28th June.
Only 30 teams in the three leagues.

There are other options. Like not trying to win every game with a win at all costs mentality. Is it not great that our football is competitive. At this time of the year that normally results in lots of nail biting draws......

Agree with Skeog.  There should be no discussion here on the tragic circumstances in Augher. Bugger off elsewhere if you want to engage in that.

What's the story here with Ronan McGuckin and Errigal.  How does he walk away and come back if Errigal beat his own club?  Why is he not at least at training preparing his team to take part in the Ulster Championship.  Looks like Enda McGinley isn't too pleased about it according to the piece in the paper today.  If Errigal are beaten how will he regain the respect of the players when he returns for league playoffs?  Chris Lawn trained Cookstown the week up to the Moortown match.  He sat on the bench throughout the game.  He left the field with the full respect of both teams.  Legend!  As for McGuckin his credibility is finished in Tyrone.

Heard that Ardboe refused to play extra time tonight in the Minor Quarter finals at Cookstown.
any truth in this?

That's true sam03/05.  Referee and Cookstown were ready to begin extra time but Benny H wasn't letting anyone play with his ball and refused to play.  Interesting to see how this one turns out.

G4S have just tweeted that despite losing a big job across the water they will not have enough people to cover the security required to deal with the Kerry county boards request for segregated seating.

Am I hearing that Dr Hyde Park might not be available on Saturday due to the weather and the Connacht final which is fixed for the following day?  Is there a plan B?

Omagh :P

We'll get back to you after a week-long consultation with the Connacht Council. Then a careful study of the capacity of possible grounds. Then maybe a decision, but we'll get some good expenses out of it at least.

What's the craic with other venues in Roscommon?

If we do away with the International Rules we are going to have to ask C Cooney, P Duffy and the 48 others (not players or wives/girlfriends) to pay their own way to far off lands in future. How can they afford to do this on their undisclosed salaries?

Gonna have a lash at predicting a few results - based on my previous form I certainly wouldnt put money on it though!

Derryloughen/Eglish - Derryloughen as eglish have nothing really to play for and too important for dloughen
Dromore/Donaghmore - Dromore comfortably to keep a good role going
EC/Clonoe - Possibility of being a great game in an otherwise dull league weekend. EC hurting and dangerous and clonoe will be determined to keep winning, clonoe by 3.G'Castle/Ardboe - Repeat of cship and im guessing on a repeat of the result.
KClogher/Moortown - Same as the top fixture with Moortown having most to play for. Fancy the st malachys to win this one.
Moy/Carrickmore - Moy need the points desperately but Carrickmore are in a winning way that they wont want to end. Unfortunate for Moy the way the fixtures have went. Carmen by quite a bit.
Omagh/Coalisland - Total damp squib, both teams would be foolish to show anything before their next big meeting, fancy Omagh to put more emhasis on it so them to win the battle but not necessarily the war.
Trillick/Cookstown - Both these teams could be doing with the 2 points for different reasons. Still fancy Trillick to secure the points with a narrow win.

Ill wait to after sat and have a go at Cship games if I dont embarrass myself completely with these.

Dont think the game is going ahead

Fancy st malachy's to beat killyclogher? The result has already been sorted. I wonder will it be played at all. The loughshore clubs have some 'interesting' history when it comes to results against killyclogher.
