Well the UK Government money is contingent on the rest of the money being found for this project. It isn't a blank cheque £50m to spend on any stadium at the site or at least that was my reading of what was said on Wednesday. So it's £120m for another stadium (and does the Irish Government money remain committed in that case?)

So if you redesign another stadium and take it through planning and the courts that isn't built for another 5-7 years based on previous experience, what's the cost of that going to be in terms of what we know about construction costs at the minute?

It's a bit frustrating to hear people talk about throwing up a 25,000 capacity stadium as if it can be started tomorrow and be done cheaply in a year or two. That's not the case.

The reality is that if the GAA say they are going to build a smaller stadium at the same site when the current planning permission expires contributions from London, Dublin and Stormont aren't going to be revoked.

The league is petty much a farce at this stage anyway, no county players playing even though they are sitting kicking their heels on the bench with no game time.

Well it'll probably be meaningless games in both halves of the division 1 split.  Apart from Ballycran, Ballygalget and St Endas who will be fighting to avoid the drop.  As for the top half I can't imagine winning the league will be a massive target for any of those 5 teams.  They'll likely use those games to try things out ahead of championship or hold back against some of their championship group opponents (Bit of shadow boxing).  I think it's just one up and one down in all leagues this year.  I don't think there are any play offs (2nd bottom v 2nd in a league).

Yea that's usually the case in division 1 to be fair.  Though this year the division 2 champions (Looking like Glenariffe) will more than likely want to come up so relegation from division 1 might have to happen to facilitate this.  Though at the same time those in the board room may decide to scrap relegation and expand division 1.  Wouldn't it be great going into a season knowing exactly what the permutations were and not having to wait until the convention/fixtures meetings to know exactly what is happening.  Chances are the leagues will change again next year as the CCC are trying to push a 5 division league system. 

We were meant to be automatically relegated last year (Ballycran won a playoff to stay up) and were all set for Div2 until we were given the option to either get remain in Div2 or stay in Div1 by Antrim CB, in and around Feb/March timeframe.
We didn't push to remain in Div1 if that's what is being implied.

Is the winner of the div below not wanting to go up the only criteria for staying up? You wouldn't like to think *some* clubs are getting preferential treatment.

Also finished Dept Q. I quite liked this too. At first I thought it would be him rattling through cold cases in each episode, but no, one season 1 case. I'll certainly watch more of this too.

I realised when it got to the decompression chamber scene that I have read the book. I can't recall the rest of the story so I'll stick with it. I believe the Scandi original Department Q film series is on Prime.

The Mourne accent and Bangor accent would be quite different, although a few mile down the road from Bangor, around Portavogie, their accent would be more similar to the Mourne accent although it's probably 40+ mile away.

Down is one county I can't pick out of the ulster counties.

Id know a Tyrone Donegal Derry South Armagh Belfast or North Antrim accent if I heard it and it was strong enough but can never pick out a Down accent.

I agree about the mourne area accent, I once worked with someone from Leitrim (Co down) area I think, before I found out where they were from I was assuming that's up around the top of Lough Neagh sort of accent.

Kilkeel and areas on the Ards peninsula could easily be mistaken for N. and E. Antrim.
