This is a poor rule that only masks the the weakness of hurling in the weaker counties. At least 2 of these players have not lived in Longford in 3 years and have now reappeared on the county team. I have seen over the last 10 or so years massive strides made by the likes of Mayo and Armagh in hurling. We can gauge this because they are doing this with players either coming through their club structures or playing club hurling in the county.
