Very good. It's a pity every county couldn't do that, have a statistical type book I mean and it could end arguments of when such a fella played etc.

Sorry for dragging this thread up again. I'm thinking of getting sky into the house myself. The parents aren't happy though but I'm just wondering what is the fee? Would €40 per month  get you the sports package? I was told it would. We have a dish because the old fella cancelled it a few years ago.

Can't see Charlestown causing an upset in Connacht (despite having home advantage) as Corofin have won Galway 10 out of 19 and I think their experience will see them through next Sunday. Hope I'm wrong.

mayogodhelpus. I can see where you're coming from, but I live in a sovereign country and don't need another (outside) leader. And this fellow van Rompuy wants another tax I believe!

Where is the Chelsea game?

Nice win. Fletcher's goal was a great goal. United's passing was sublime in the 1st half. Got a bit edgy until Carrick scored the second goal as Everton found belief that they could claim something from it at that stage. Definitely have to say the best team won. Maybe they're clicking into gear. It's two and a half months till another big four meeting, hopefully we can kick on and pick up points now.

Terrible scoring after 57 mins, but horrible day to be out playing in fairness.
What's the likely scenario now - presume Breaffy will be looking for a replay.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs has already called on the County Board to give a replay while a number of Breaffy supporters were seen protesting outside Mick Byrnes. The protest ended peacefully when it started raining and the protesters went in for a point.

:D Class muppet. Maybe the Breaffy fans will protest outside govt buildings in order to force the replay to go ahead!

Castlebar Mitchels 1-4 Breaffy 1-2 in U-21 A championship. Don't know if it will be replayed or not. Ref blew whistle early according to radio.

Achill 1-11 Kiltimagh 0-6 in the U-21 B championship.

Given dropped a few balls that a world class keeper should've held onto. Good job there was an Irish defender there to hoof them away.

What will van Rompuy be doing (apart from drawing his salary)?

Deel Rover, what can the county board do? The're up to their neck with the McHale park development saga and taking down the pressbox etc. Perhaps they could get him to coach youngsters like Kerry did with Tadgh Kennelly.

Interesting thread. Decent points made by both sides of the fence. Personally, I have and interest in the majority of sports with the exception of really the obscure ones and lawn bowles lets say. I find it fascinating how certain people can be a die hard supporter of one sport and then at the same time have no interest in other sports whatsoever. There is a substantial  number of people like this though it has to be said, every place has them...the soccer crowd, the rugby crowd and the GAA crowd.

I have to say I follow Gaelic football as number 1, soccer as number 2. No real number 3 or other number for that matter. I watch Ireland v England in rugby every year but that's as far as it goes in that sport.
