QuoteYes, that little bridge at the back of Whitestream, the Rocks and all those big houses divide Ballina from Knockmore. Further westwards that stream flows on to the North of Farrandeelin and Ballina have Knockleigh which is a rural area (the roads around the Showgrounds) would be Knockleigh.

You'd be a man for the quiz team!

Ha, well I do know that area well enough anyway! PS, do the Stephenites take in any of Cooneal parish which has no club?

I had it that it was Paul McG & CD as selectors but I'll have to check my sources.
i think my old coach gerry leonard is Def one of the selectors
off the point
do stepjhenhites claim much  of a rural area?

they are out to White stream house on our side, Rehins fort is in Knockmore.
Heard that about Gerry Leonard alright. And the mcgarry was jim, along with another fella I didn't know

What do the Mayo people on here think of Mid West Radio?

Heard Paul Claffey's show a few times recently and couldn't believe the amount of self promotion he indulged in.
He only seems to mainly play songs by 'singers' who are going on one of his music weekends away, and seems to continually push the likes of Mike Denver, John Mc Nicholl and anyone going on his weekedns away.

He never shuts his mouth about the Royal Theatre in Castlebar, and sometimes MWR sounds like nothing more than a promotional vehicle for the above venue.

The sports department was never the same since the passing of Willie 'The Shoe' and is a pale shadow of what it once was.

Any other opinions?

f**k me, I was going to refrain from posting for another week, but you've hit the nail on the head. Angelina whatsername Lord Jesus Christ, I cannot suffer her for the sports. Criticise at your peril and the text won't be read out!!! As for Claffey, nothing but a moaning whingebag who depresses me any time I listen to him. I like Tommy Marren though, he's the best of them - he does his job well.

Given the hiding Charlestown got today by Corofin, has Mayo experienced a period that won't be repeated for a long time. I think we have blown our chance to lift Sam for a long, long time.  Maybe I'm being over-pessimistic but it's hard to be anything other than this when we consistently end up losing finals.

Just watching it now . Pure crap .

Agreed. If this is the best RTE can come up with, then its going to be painful viewing.

It'd be nice to renew the rivalry with Leeds. My dad is a long standing (suffering) Leeds fan. Saying that, I'd want Kettering to do the job and put them out. It'd benefit the non-league club more than Leeds.

I thought it'd be closer too, listened to it on Mid-West. Fair dues to that Comer, he stole the show. He will probably feature in Kernan's plans now I'd say. Charlestown never got going at all in the second half, or weren't allowed depending on where you're coming from.

Congrats to Kiltimagh today. Why on Earth Vincent McKeown wasn't starting for Mayo minors this year I don't know, he was exceptional today. Needless to say another one of my teams lost again in a final, but no complaints whatsoever this time. Kiltimagh 1-12, Knockmore 1-6 was the result. I heard Castlebar Mitchels beat Breaffy handy enough. So that's it. No more action until February...
