Any confirmed reports or is it all rumours?

Is he not just back from a wedding in Portugal?

Jetsetter is Diarmuid.

The poor man just can't catch a break.

Could be PK's new cause celebre. He's turned Turk a bit after calling out the Dubs for cheating and be rounded on by all & sundry.

Turned Turk?

Amazing positivity. Joe Molloy is a superb interviewer. A career in the BBC beckons.

The BBC are welcome to him. He was a talking arse the last time I listened to him, and he was shocking presenting the rugby - although I will concede that being saddled with a panel of deadbeats didn't help him any.

I found that very interesting. It was a much better column than McGuinness normally comes out with. Of course, he might be inclined to try a bit harder since the China gig went wallop. Looking forward to seeing if he keeps it up now over the summer.

Conroy - 7 stitches and severe concussion - True?

10 year ban if true.

I don't think a 10 year ban is suitable. Crucifixion, really, is the only suitable treatment for so perfidious a footballer. Ballintubber is a hilly part of the world too - should be handy enough if you bucks are willing to source the lumber.

Galway- Mayo games - all that matters is getting over the line and into the next round. All this nonsense and worry about playing styles and performances seems to be a relatively new phenomenon.

Great to get the win today as I think Galway needed that after all that was said about them in the build up.

Interesting about both teams keeping lads in reserve to finish the game out with likes of Brannigan and COC. I'd have thought if lads are injury risks you might start them and lose one substitution rather than bring them on and potentially lose two subs.

Ian Burke is just a class act. He adds so much more to us in attack. His movement and link play is as good as I've seen in a Galway jersey in a long time. He's a must to start the next day.

Well done Galway and fair play Heaney for the finish today.
A lot to work on but it was all about a battle and getting through to the next round.

All the best to Parsons. And Conroy too.

Well said DJ. Conroy got a nasty wallop that's being forgotten about a little because of Tom Parsons. Let's hope they're both better as soon as possible.

Anyone else think this was way out of order on the Sindo's part?

The club handled the situation terribly and it's unacceptable to use that language when coaching u-12s, but tarnishing the name of two volunteers and sensationalising this matter with a journalist who doesn't seem to like or care about the GAA, was wrong of the Sindo imo.

I don't think O' Rourke, Brolly or Dermot Crowe would have touched this. Be interested to hear Brolly's take on it.

I don't see Joe biting the hand that feeds him Asal.

Thanks Syferus but let's not go down the road of comparing crowds and cultures. People at GAA matches are from one small island. Soccer crowds are from all corners of the globe. They can't be compared.

I would have thought the answer obvious myself, but a tweet from Des Cahill today made me wonder, not for first time lately, if I'm cracked or if the world as I knew it has turned on its head.

As you know, Dunboyne GAA stalwart Seán Cox was horrifically assaulted before Liverpool FC played FC Roma in the UEFA Champions League in Liverpool during the week. Liverpool and those associated with the club have been outstanding in their reactions to the crime, and we all pray Seán Cox recovers.

Des Cahill commended Liverpool for their gesture in hanging a Dunboyne jersey in their dressing room today, but went on to qualify his remarks by describing the gesture as:

a gesture that wouldn't be carried out by county #GAA teams in Ireland.

Here's the link to the tweet itself, which I can't get to embed properly in this post: https://twitter.com/sportsdes/status/990189837964759040
This would be outrageous from some of the anti-GAA people in RTÉ, but hardly surprising. But from the presenter of the Sunday Game? Does Des Cahill needs to explain himself and then some, or am I missing something?

Spot on, Armaghniac. God help you, Denn Forever, you wouldn't know genius if it bit you on the leg.

I've no tears for him either Jinxy. Any booting he got because of this he deserved, and I hope he learns some lessons from this.

If you were the team's sponsor, and the player made it very obvious who he was and who he played for in his social media profile before diving in feet first like Walsh did, would you feel you had a dog in the fight here?
It was very obvious to me watching it happen it in real time that MW Hire saw which way the wind was blowing and tried to limit the damage.
If I was giving money to a county team I'd be entitled to expect the players wouldn't damage the good name of my business, just by looking for a reaction on Twitter.

I don't know Jinxy. AIG don't seem to have batted an eyelid when this happened: http://www.thejournal.ie/diarmuid-connolly-civil-court-case-3678487-Nov2017/. Seems worse than talking shite on Twitter.

There's no obligation on people to have social media accounts. If people have social media accounts, there's no obligation to pay any head to what people whom you don't know from a hole in the ground has to say.

The "problem" with social media isn't a problem with social media at all, but with conventional media using social media to generate clickbait. Sue Ellen Ewing wore a blue dress today and killed the internet. Twitter thinks it knows who shot JR. Calls for control over social media after Snapchat posts claim Maggie Riordan takes the pill. So f**king what?

On the substantive issue, the boy in Laois is a clown. The country is full of them. Why pay any heed to one anymore than the others? Why pay any heed to them at all?

Anyone hazard a guess as to what team Rochford will select without Keegan and O'Connor this weekend? Does he know his championship goalie? Any word if Vaughan or Higgins are back with the panel? The only glimmer of hope I can see is that McBrearty is out for them.

Well all know who the Championship goalie is Farr. Don't worry about it.
