I have difficulty with the banning spectators for life. Not  in how it is dispensed but more in relation to how it is upheld.

What stops anyone who is banned for life turning up at club or county games anywhere in the country , paying at gate, getting tickets through ticketmaster etc.?

Hasn't stopped the guy banned over the ladies incident i hear!!  ::)

THE PSNI have confirmed that they are now investigating incidents which occurred at last Sunday's Tyrone All-County Football League final, which was marred by violent scenes both on and off the field.
A police spokesperson said yesterday [Wednesday] that a complaint had been received from a male on Tuesday evening, who alleged he had a piece of his ear bitten off at the match.
Violence erupted in the crowd towards the end of the clash between Carrickmore and Dromore, which the St Dympna's side won by 0-11 to 0-6 to complete a Tyrone league and Championship double.

I can't speak about what players have said or done but I find it astonishing that there seems to be a shrug of the shoulders attitude among some here about trash talking, play acting, sly digs etc. Are people actually viewing this as part of the game?

I'd be the first to admit that I've done and said a few things on the pitch that I wouldn't be particularly proud of but I never crossed the lines that are being suggested by some here. I despair when people say a man should get sent off for 'raising his hands', as it is this attitude that encourages teams to provoke opponents and if they do then hit the ground as if shot with teammates badgering the ref for a sending off.

Every time a poster here defends his county men of behaviour that is entirely unacceptable (and it happens regularly) it is another step in the normalisation of certain acts and we contribute to the dumbing down and scumming up of football.

As Brian Dooher seems to have a vital role in helping persuade players to stick with Tyrone, do Tyrone fans believe he will make a good manager one day? Whilst, at best, Dooher could be described as a poor man's McGeeney, could he be the man to eventually replace Mickey Harte?

PRESS STATEMENT
Following incidents after the final whistle in the Tyrone Ladies senior football final on June 24th , the Tyrone Ladies GFA instigated a robust enquiry and full investigation.

The results of the investigation were outlined to a full county board meeting last night and the following penalties were imposed.

An individual, reportedly a Carrickmore supporter was identified as the person who allegedly assaulted match referee Simon Brady, The County board issued him with a lifetime ban from any involvement in or with Ladies gaelic football, this includes attendance at Ladies fixtures in the future. He was not a member of the Ladies GFA.

A second individual confirmed as part of the Carrickmore management team and a member of the Ladies GFA was identified as the person who allegedly assaulted the Tyrone ladies GFA chairman Martin Conway.

Once again a life ban was imposed in accordance with the Ladies football official guide. The Carrickmore club were also handed a substantial fine.

The Tyrone ladies GFA commended those who carried out and assisted with the investigation, they thanked both clubs for the manner in which they co-operated fully with the enquiry.

In a statement to the meeting, Carrickmore condemned the incidents and wished the two injured parties a speedy recovery and return to their duties.

It has been a difficult time for the Ladies game in Tyrone but the focus now is on pulling together ahead of Sundays Ulster senior ladies football final with Tyrone up against Monaghan at Clones

Its sad that Carrickmore seem to have learned nothing from the dark days for the club during the mid 1990s when some players left the co panel in protest at lengthy bans.  A years ground closure might be the next option for the co board to look at.  Worked for Bellaghy's indiscipline.

Incidentally were moortown not told to give the name of the player who broke joe mcmahons jaw or face the consequences?  Anyone know if they did?

There has been no more word on that. The County board didn't touch them because they are one of the superpowers. http://gaaboard.com/board/index.php?topic=12.19959

Mccloskey was slower then I thought. But had good lateral movement but at times was all over the place. Mainly surviving in the fight.

Re: the Tyrone U 21 Ulster Final. What will happen to ACL games at weekend if the U21s win?

Will the games go ahead on Sunday and will the U21s be allowed to play?
If Tyrone win I would imagine the league games may be brought forward to Saturday thus giving them 6 days free to prepare for All Ireland semi final

All Ireland Semi is this Saturday;

One of the accused is claiming he was beaten by the police. Could see that one coming down the track like a train, especially since I heard a Mauritian journalist on the radio last night say that most (90%?) of criminal convictions there come through confessions. Maybe the Irish government should offer to send some scientists over from Forensic Science Laboratory to assist with the investigation? Last thing needed here is a miscarriage of justice.

would agree.

if there was a struggle i would assume there would be plenty of dna evidence.

Could be wrong here, but i doubt if they even know what dna is over there, don't think they would have the resources to get dna evidence.
