Hurson declining the senior final as he felt he shouldn't be doing it this year, possibly due to already reffing one recently and that others deserved their chance. Shane Meehan declining to do standby in senior final as hes outraged that McHugh got it. Can see his point, dont understand why they couldn't have gave Meehan the senior final while keeping McHugh where he was with intermediate. only reason I can think of is that Meehan done semi final between errigal and carmen but there has to be another reason

No doubt he was ruled out due to his awful performance in the Semi Final. I wouldn't trust Meehan to referee a Minor game never mind the Senior Championship Final.

so that performance, which I feel wasnt the worst, ruled him out of contention, yet Mchugh won Carrickmore that replay against edendork after a bad performance but is okay to do the final?

Martin Sludden typifies the so called top referees in this county...Carrickmore will be glad to see the back off him i would say....

what was wrong? apart from where he should've played advantage when morgan gave away the fist past for the goal chance, he was very good throughout

Good win this evening, we were cruising 5 mins before half time only for Loughmacrory to kick 1-2 to leave just 3 in it.

Again we were up by 5 with 10 to go but let them back into it. We've had a tendency to do this in every game we've played this year and don't seem to be able to kill teams off.

Conal Grimes didn't appear injured to me. He followed Kieran McGeary wherever he went and the two cancelled each other out. Neither man stood out.

Loughmacrory are a decent young team and will make the step up to division 1 sooner rather than later.

the strapping around grimes hamstring was the give away for me as to whether he was injured or not. mcgeary kicked 4 from play also so he wasn't cancelled out very well.

pomeroy more clinical tonight, goal and a point at the very end putting some gloss on the score line but lough unlucky not to force extra time at least, conall grimes clearly hampered with some sort of injury throughout the game, adding that to the 3 or 4 other injuries they already have to starting players, great young team with plenty to offer next year. galballys championship to lose

Loughmacrory to have the game plan worked out tonight under the lights of the harps. 3/1 for them on boyle sports is scandalous, definitely worth a few bob

Gortin defeated Moortown tonight in their IFC Round 1 replay, 1-11 to 1-10. Moortown were six points down going into the last quarter before starting a comeback, but it wasn't enough & Gortin held on. They now face Greencastle in a derby quarter-final clash.

moortown threw it away the first day and will be kicking themselves. looking forward now to the derby match between gortin and greencastle where young mcaleer will find it tough to find scores whilst being marshalled by ronan hollywood who didn't give cloghers danger forward a sniff in healy park.

another big weekend of championship action coming up. Can't see any surprises bar maybe the rock giving glenelly a run and possibly galbally getting past a strong aghyaran team with big names like johnny connolly said to be coming back into the starting 15.
