Not much coverage of the U21's so far this year. Strabane Chronicle have an article on yesterdays win.

what are the exact dates for teh summer break?

We were told at training on Sunday morning that there is likely to be a round of fixtures on the 11th July!! Yes, the Friday night. Now in all my years of playing I don't think teams have ever played on that date/that close to the 12th. A number of very organised players have already booked holidays starting at the beginning of the 12th week thinking that the last round of games before the summer break would be Sunday the 6th.

Sorry tyronegirl, I haven't been to a gig in croker, hard to know what stage-side view would be like. But sure is there a bad seat at a Garth Brooks concert? :P

Looks like Cork are doing some good work when it comes to injury prevention.

Rebel Óg embrace modern technology
24 January 2014

Cork GAA officials have come up with a novel way of trying to combat burn-out.Cork GAA officials have come up with a novel way of trying to combat burn-out amongst young players.

Rebel Óg has developed an app in conjunction with sports scientists at UCC which they envisage will help ease the workload of talented young footballers and hurlers.

"One of the first things we noticed when we started Rebel Óg was the ease at which a young player could pick up an injury from playing too much as good players usually play football and hurling with their club, school and county," Rebel Óg chairman Marc Sheehan explained to the Irish Examiner.

"So we sat down with some of the sports staff in UCC and discussed it and they devised an app for us.

"Each player inputs data into the app on their phone at the end of each day detailing the physical activities they have undergone.

"The sports scientists analyse that and are able to feed it back to the coaches so they know which players need a rest and which ones could do with more training."

He continued: "As opposed to hearsay and speculation we're relying on this for exact details. Each player has a secure log in which can record injury information and other appropriate data.

"That information will be there for a player's entire career and can help in the treatment of injuries and the structure of a training session.

"We're embracing modern technology through this. It's an aspect which we've been considering over the last year or two and we are looking at injury prevention and treatment methods."

In recent weeks a number of managers and parents have spoken out about the amount of training players are doing. More needs to be done to determine what is too much and hopefully others will start capturing this data so some conclusions can be reached.

Why do you think that trap? Tyrone got to the final last year, and Derry and Westmeath have replaced Donegal and Down. Away to Kerry and Cork is tough but we won in Kildare last year and I fancy a win in Celtic Park next weekend.

Again, mcnulty doesn't seem to be on the squad. Does anyone know what the story is there? From what I have seen of him the past couple of seasons he has great potential at full forward for us.

I fell in love with the game after we got Sky into the house about 10 years ago. After watching for a few weeks I developed a soft spot for the Saints. Deuce mcallister rumbling up the middle and joe horn out wide, I don't know why I liked them but I did. Had a poor couple of seasons around that time, think only 2 or 3 wins in 05 or something but things turned around after that when we got Brees. I would love to get to a game some time. I wouldn't be much into the college scene but it would be something I would like to see more of

I would actually love to get the chance to work and live in America tbh.

Gundogen from Dortmund is on his way to United with Kagawa going the other way

This seems to be everywhere

He hasn't played since getting injured in the first game of the season though. His fitness would obviously be lacking and with Carrick injured now too, we need someone who can come into the team immediately. Obviously I would welcome the signing but his fitness situation is far from ideal.

The Brother is on his honeymoon at the moment, and is on the way to Hawaii, and he's heading to the Pro Bowl on Sunday. I know it's only a glorified challenge match, but to be able to see all them lads in the one place would be great. The b**tard.

Lucky lucky man. That would be ideal as you may never get to an NFL game. Has anyone been to any of the Wembley games?

As much as I agree, it is probably a bit late to try enforcing the rules now when Mickey has got away with it for years. A change to the competition is probably needed.
