Tyrone have Goalkeeper (Fox), two midfielders (Burns and McShane), CHF (Kavanagh), Corner forward (Brennan) who started last years final I think. McGlone also played that final as a sub if memory serves me. There's a couple of other fellas who were on the panel last year too. It's a good team but not as good as last years AI winners IMO. The best player at minor in this team is in Oz playing AFL (Conor McKenna) but I still think Ulster is achievable and who knows after that.

Quiggs trash talked every bit as much bringing up gym stories of Carl being dropped etc. Thats generally a taboo thing that fighters shouldnt bring up or talk about. Also Joe Gallagher has been personal about Shane McGuigan. It's all a part of the game, don't forget also that these sky shows are edited on Eddie Hearns approval. Team Frampton were unhappy with the 'The Gloves Are Off' edit and alluded to the bias in the editing.

Genuinely get a bit nervous when I think about the fight. It's so rare to get two fighters at their peak meeting each other like this.

AJ is very good but his lack of head movement I think will undo him at some point unless it's addressed. Hope he wins and then you have Fury, Wilder, AJ as champions with Klitschko, Haye, Parker, Ortiz and Hughie Fury around the scene. Great for boxing that the HW scene is improving.

They put it aside 1) because you can play both 2) playing for the county will improve you as a player 3) it's a special honour to play county and pit your wits with the cream of other counties.

But if it was stated before they joined a county panel you can no longer play for your club again until your county career is over I'd say my view would be given substantial weight by the responses. Winning with your friends, family and community is incredibly special. Winning SAM may be more glamorous nationwide but not more meaningful in my opinion.

Maybe my view isn't totally universal but anyone I've ever spoke to about this issue felt the same, including many county players.

Jerome/any craic any chance of extended highlights of today's UUJ St Mary's game being uploaded? Even one of them first/second half hilties videos would be great. Should be a great game today with the calibre of players on both sides added to it being a derby.

An all Ireland senior club medal is the best thing you can win as a GAA player. County is great but I don't think many players would rather win Sam before an AI Senior Club title. So this county who or take priority talk is utter 5hite talk.

Hope cross can go the whole way again.

Any date for the decision on championship start date? It's really important clubs know early so they can tailor their training/season around peaking at these times.

I think McCann was trying to leave one on him with a hit but I doubt he wanted to do him like that with such a bad injury. By the video it's more of a shoulder to hit into him than a flying elbow directed to bust him.

I'm also a huge Frampton fan but I fear this Quigg fight. Think Quiggs body shots could cause Carl huge difficulties as last day out Carl looked vulnerable to them. If Carl stays off the deck/doesn't get stopped he wins this fight on points. Vastly superior pure boxer but Quigg hits hard and has improved hugely in the last 18 months.

Maybe the last fight was a blessing in disguise though. I know Carl's dropped his weight much earlier to what he deems his best fighting weight so that should make his weight cut for the weigh in much easier than last time out and there won't be that stupid thick foam underlay that Chavez Jnr had requested.

It really is a very hard fight to call.

My opinion on Khans decision to fight Alvarez/not fight Brook next.

The reason Khan has taken this is simple if you understand his mindset. He wants to be a worldwide superstar and views himself as a big name. Thus he wanted to be part of a mega fight. With FMJ and Pacquiao not happening Canelo is the next biggest PPV star. I think this thirst for stardom will have severe consequences and he could get dealt with brutally. Alvarez will be a stone heavier in the ring and while Khan is my favourite fighter I don't think he has the ring IQ to keep Alvarez off for 12 rounds. I predict a KO around rounds 6-10 as Khan tires. While I love the fact Khan is daring to be great, Paulie Malignaggi summed it up in a podcast saying that boxers aren't action figures where you can put the biggest names against each other. Weight divisions are there for a good reason.

Furthermore, while the Kell Brook fight is massive in the UK and will make Khan maybe £10 Million he hasn't taken it yet as he thinks it lacks worldwide appeal so only wants to take that fight when either 1) there are no other good options on the table as he feels that's an option he'll always have 2) Brook records a massive win or two and has recognition in the U.S. so the fight can give him that worldwide stardom his ego/ambition craves. He also thinks he's carrying the Brook fight, wants an 80-20 split of the money due to this. Tbh he probably is right, Brook has caught nobody bar Porter and all he does is hang on to Khans name as its his only true massive payday. However, it'll be a travesty if the fans never get to see it.

There's always knobs crying favouritism, whether that be to do with their family or club. In recent years Mark, Davy and Peter Harte were labelled with this at different points in their careers. DD Mulgrew seems to now be getting it as horses nephew. Ciaran McGinley had it for a while and now McCrory is getting it as he's from Mickeys home club. Sensible posters don't take much heed of it but there's a collection of those who always will have some kind of agenda and will use a favouritism narrative and a fall guy to have a go at Harte and his back room team.

However, I hope HP McGeary, Hampsey and Munroe all get a chance in the coming weeks.

Lastly, can our free takers please practice like fcuk, we need this problem addressed if provincial and AI honours are to be won.

Of course he is. Whether he's worth of a start is a different matter.

It's not just about America it's the whole feeling and buzz around a club added to players not training at the same intensity that championship aspirations fuel.

Early Championship -1

Late Championship - 2

For the good of our clubs I hope the county board takes heed.
