It was the Echo in Liverpool which was the first with the story of Alonso handing in a transfer request. This would be significant as it means he wouldnt get his loyalty bonus, which would probably be 10% of the transfer fee, which woud bring our asking price down. The Echo is usually the most reliable of newspaper sources and most of the rags followed it. But the Echo isnt always right either and a couple of the rags are quoting Alonso's advisors saying he hasnt handed in a transfer request. Nothing confirming or denying on the LFC website so, as usual we are none the wiser.

Strongest rumours are that Aqualini of Roma is favourite to be the replacement. Some sources saying we've agreed terms with the player for a €80k a week salary! €20m transfer agreed in principle with Roma, but no official bid to be made unless we sell Alonso.

Have no idea how good or bad he is, but from reading other forums the general opinion is that he's very similar type player to Alonso, but not quite as good, and has had a number of injuries, restricting his first team appearances to 20, 30, 20 over the last three seasons respectively.

Also it wasn't Tony Barret who wrote it either, the most reliable of Echo journalists. He doesn't share his contacts either apparently so may be the only one who communicates with Rafa. Intersting that the other Echo journalists believe that Alonso is over rated and they think the stats back that up. He is just an easy-on-eye footballer e.g spectacular passing.

Hope it gets wound up soon, sickening at this stage. Aqualani is a class act apparently but, again, it's the injury concerns which make it  a massive risk. But it wont be as if the Pool havent looked into it.

Turner is a cracking player by the looks of things, If we got him for six million I would be pleased personally.

granemore beat ballyhegan by 5 pts , played in very poor conditions , refeere v o, neill turned a blind eye to several challenges made by  ballyhegan players and gave them most of the decisions but a wins a win  :) , also noticed aiden o,rourke at the game which was a poor enough match with both sides understrength .

Sweet Jesus, wee edit needed me thinks.

Was Aidan there? I know that the side are taking the Granemore challenge extremely seriously.

f**k that put's an awful pressure on Killeavey now.  Will Dromintee do their friendly neighbours a favour on Sunday?

The way we have been playing and the way they hammered us earlier in the year would make me think they are favourites.

As for doing them a favour? Go away and shite.  :P

Is this the same way Culloville were favourites against Dromintee a few weeks ago?  ::)

Killeavy beat us by 10 or so points just a few weeks back. They beat us home and away last year too.

We were beaten by Sarsfields by seven last week too.

I think we have had two wins in six games or something.

We have a shocking number of injuries and unavailable players.

So I don't think it is that stupid to be honest.

But if it annoyed you so much. ::)

any word on Killeavy v Culloville

Cullaville by a point.

Referee apparently gave Killeavy the dodgiest of goals and the Blues hit five in reply.

If I had a choice I would work Saturdays & take Monday off
Carlsbergs dont do jobs................

I dunno, then Tuesday becomes your Monday, Wednesday becomes your Tuesday, all of a sudden you find yourself kicking at the doors of the chapel on a Saturday and trying to buy the Irish News on a Sunday!

;D

Rough week for me, i'll be glad to have a quiet evening in front of the telly tonight.

What u gonna watch?
Have you gotten clearance from SLK about watching tv programmes!

He texts me at 5.30 pm when I get through the door to say what I can watch.

Typical Friday would include the Simpsons anyway and whatever else he throws in. Hope he doesn;t run out of vredit again or it'll be another night staring at a blank screen.

Tiger goes 7 under after 7 holes in the States. he started his round in 95th position struggling to make the cut, he is now in 3rd position!

Easy course I know, but that's superb.

He bogeys the 9th to shoot 30 for his first nine. he is human after all

We put the scud on so.

The '03, '05 and '08 finals were all equally special for me, but the game that stands out was the '05 AISF v Armagh when Canavan hit the winning free in injury time. The atmosphere that day was unbelievable and the game was end to end. Also fitting that Paddy Russell gave the free considering he screwed Tyrone over in 1995.

As an Armagh man that semi was the best i've been too for Atmosphere even though we lost, never witnessed anything like it before. SON that day gave an exibition to remember for a long time.

Was weirdly enjoyable despite the loss, never heard noise like it.

O'Neill was good but the performance in the UF eclipsed it greatly.

Strangely our sf win over Dublin in 02 was nearly as joyous as the actual win for me.
