Monte Barretts ring entrance last night is my sporting highlight of the year!

Have to confess, really enjoy watching Haye, the fight can end at any moment from the first bell.  Looking forward to seeing him agoinst one of the Klitschkos.  It may be a crap division right now but that fight should be worth watching!

Sean Cavanagh for me - Quite simply more effective than anyone else in the game!

Honourable mention to the Gooch and a biassed shout for Fergal Doherty from a Derry point of view

Best chant I heard at the 2001 Quater Final was:  "There Is No S.D.L.P. In Tyrone"

Brilliant....

Yeah my memory was Barton had grabbed him by the throat trying to get a reaction
Pascal waited for him to release but when he didn't he gave him to good digs to the jaw.

I'm just wondering how long to reigning AI champs tend to last in Ulster the following year

Can anyone tell me Who beat ...

Down in 1992 ................... Derry Ulster semi, casement i think
Donegal in 1993................. Derry Ulster Final, Clones
Derry in 1994.....................Down in the Marches I think. Was it the 1st round?
Down in 1995....................Tyrone in Ulster final
Armagh in 2003..................Monaghan was it 1st round?
Tyrone in 2004..................Donegal in the semi I think
Tyrone in 2006..................Derry in Omagh in 1st round

And....
Tyrone in 2009

No call for that blade being in the changing room at that time!

Furthermore, i always maintain that no women should be entitled to tickets for big games (all ireland finals etc) until all the men have been sorted out first.

I'd imagine big Brian and Scullion would be the cheapest options out of those 6.

Is it a surprise Barton isn't nominated considering he was touted as the DCB's early favourite for the job?

Nail on the head!

i had an exchange or two with smcafee on this board and it seemed to me like he was more interested in expressing his dissident republican politics than discussing GAA. However, that was his right to do so and it is good that this is a diverse board. He apologised for his shooting the journalist remarks and accepted he had been very careless. demanding he change his name is ludacris. should i change my picture encase the future president gets annoyed?

Do you honestly think that someone would come on here making the sick statements that he has, and actually use his genuine name?  You'd have to be mad! Or Iris Robinson!

I've heard from 2 decent sources that Tony Scullion is a very serious contender for the job.  Heard nothing about a team with him.  Who was his management team at Ballinascreen and Kildress (i think??)

My preference would be Cassidy and to be honest, i don't fancy any of the other names on the list!

Everybody hates us more (so they do)!

Strange that!  Can you put forward a reason why? Can't really say it's because of the two All Irelands as you have been the most unpopular Ulster county since long before 2001!

Thanks for the service Paddy.  You delivered a naional league but couldn't put out a side to perform on the big stage.

The one thing that we musters ensure is that we don't make the same mistake again and just take the cheap option!  The general consesus among supporters is that Damian Cassidy is the man to take Derry forward.  I would welcome this move.  This man takes no shit and understands what it takes to put out a team that can win!  The other candidates would be John Brennan/Henry Downey and Damian Barton.  I would prefer Cassidy to all the obvoius options.

One thing we must remember is that prior to PC's appointment there was much discussion about who would get the job.  Nobody ever mentioned PC.  I am very scared that something similar could happen again!

With regards to the talk about the talent available to Derry, i think we have 2 true stars in PB and Doherty.  We then have about 10/11 players that could be considered to be top level county players (if utilised correctly).  We need our coach to get the most out these men and pick the appropriate players to fill out the team.  Tyrone are a game away from an All Ireland final  with just one star and quite a few 'role players.'

Fancy a job Mickey?

That was without doubt the worst refereeing performance i have ever witnessed - i don't think he got one thing right.

After the first sending off he went very easy on Kerry, allowing them to build up what looked like an unassailable lead.  As was mentioned in the commentary, referees tend to do this on occasion.  However, to follow this up by sending a man off for what can be described as no more more than a playful slap was ridiculous.  That was in essence a double blow to Cork as Kerry were awarder for O'Se's stupidity with a handful of easy frees BEFORE the referee decided to even things up!

This was then followed up by ignoring a cork penlalty prior to awarding a dubious one when it was clear that the forward jumped into the tackle.

Don't get me wrong, Kerry were by far the better team and i'm still struggling to understand how that game ended in a draw.  I'm just amazed that a referee can get so many things wrong (both small decisions and big ones) in the one game.

On another matter, O Mahoney is a disgrace and his antics should be looked at.  Clearly Kerry will win the replay but O Mahoney does not deserve to play in an All Ireland Final after this (although given their likely opponents, he will be in good company!!!)

Best off chucking the medal to the jockey (AP).

Think at the last olympics on Irelands only medal they credited the jockey and the horse (waterford Crystal) before the shifty horse got caught out.
