They've obviously no f**king idea whatsoever of the cost of knowledge leaving the company on a regular basis.


In general, nowadays employers need to be offering both a big wage and good terms. Otherwise they're getting the dregs.

Our lot offer a reasonable wage, but they are completely at sea over terms. About 30 years out of date and they just keep losing people out the door at a horrendous rate. Yet not one of those in charge wants to deal with it - not even sure they acknowledge it.

If it were up to me, there'd be a ruling body comprising representatives from Westminster and the Dail - with potential non-voting representation from Stormont (to basically act as a conduit to the locals) and the US congress (which might up investment).

To be clear, I don't think he was meant to stay on - the last man subbed in injury time was possibly meant to linger long enough to have the linesman get confused counting and burn time when they all sorted it. But the referee played on and then fog of war kicks in - maybe Mullin then thought they weren't the subbed man and guessed the refereeing team had sorted it.

If I were on the committee I'd ask the players as a collective to decide what way they want to take it.

If I were a player? Do I honestly think it was the winning and losing of the game? Probably not. Move broke down too early. Do I think Mannion and Walsh could be kept as quiet 2nd time around? Probably not. Did my team underperform badly on the day and have a much better chance of winning next time? No, not really.


I don't *think* I would ask for a replay. But then I'm not in their mental space right now.

Huge - they'd have well over 100 boys in each year from maybe u8 to 12 or 13 before it starts falling off and they start to lose them

It'll be a complete strength and conditioning scheme which won't matter a damn as the players can't kick a ball accurately over 30m.

Elite athletes train that way, intercounty footballers are elite athletes.
Club football is moving in that direction as well, with players now being as physically fit as county players were 20 years ago. Everyone tries to stay one step ahead and get an advantage. The majority of teams, with the exception of Kilcoo, are well into a SandC winter programme in preparation for the upcoming season. You are miles behind if your club is not doing anything at all. Dundrum is currently putting in a strong preseason effort, but I'd be surprised if they made it out of division 4 next season. And that's not a criticism of the players; it's just a reflection of the four relegated teams' ambition to return. Due to the strong u17s they had this season, Bosco and Attical will be favourites..
If a junior club is training that way then what is a division 1 club doing?

To be honest, much of it is because the coaches don't know shite about coaching skills so instead of upskilling the players just waste their enthusiasm running around beaches.

Looks like their fees are justified to the clubs based on all this training. Yet invariably the teams will stand or fall.... And by that I mean fall... based on their (in)ability to handle or pass a ball.
