GAA Discussion / Ticket Scam
September 13, 2014, 10:00:59 PM
Needless to say ye are all too cute to get caught with this:
http://www.globaltickets.ie/store/product.php?id=156

At least I can't imagine Kerry Mike paying €350 for a lower Davin Stand ticket for a  "hurling"All-Ireland on the 27th September.

In any case, if any of you have www.searchforless and have a look at the companies (Global Tickets Limited)  details you will see that they are due for strike of.  Question is, as always, where are the two roofers, Pat and Alan getting all the tickets?

Joe Brolly is an arrogant, ignorant asshole of the very highest order.  I have heard of players being criticized if children are watching but if they were watching this ignorant f**k in action it is worse.

2nd August. Laois beat Kilkenny 3-2 to 2-4 in the Leinster Hurling Final. Clare won the All-Ireland that year but Laois, cute as ever waited until the following year when everyone was away fighting in the great war and won the All-Ireland. What makes Bud happy is that it was Cork they beat to win their All-Ireland. They never played Cork again in a championship game until 2011 and that used sicken Cork 'cause we used to ask them, who was the team that beat Cork in an All-Ireland that Cork never, ever bate?

However, even though Laois went on to do more for the development of vulcanite false teeth and could take a mans ear off with the precision of a bacon slicer they never won foook all again and today when someone points out one of the Bergins or some other hero of the '15 team in some old faded photo on a wall in a pub, you will often hear "they could have won another five All-Ireland's only for that Hitler bollax and them all having to go off and fight the war"

Yes, of course there is off the shelf.  Ring the guys in cctvdirect.co,uk  and tell them exactly what you are trying to do and they are sound and will give you the right gear.

I don't know what you are doing in this premises but if you would like a "happy ending" there are a few other considerations,

If there are mirrors, and I'm beginning to guess there are and you are using IR Cameras be careful how you locate them or all you will see is a big flash of light even though the IR's are not visible and the place is in darkness.
Don't buy a monitor, an ordinary good quality small TV will do, most or all recorders have VGA output.  Before you cable put your TV on a desk and make up a long camera lead and just do a walk test.

Recorders come in 4/8/16 channel    You can decide the difference between 8 and 16 when ordering but remember, if you buy an 8 you can't add onto it, you have to buy an additional one or a 16.  You can also buy an 8 channel power supply instead of buying an individual one for each camera. All recorders are networked today so you can view them on your phone or laptop from home so if you want to do this you will need broadband on the premises.   That's about it

That collection of junk on e-bay is not going to help you anyway.  It is made by a China Company, Weisky Tech and sells for around $80.

Here are a few things you have to "decide"

1.   Choose between whether you want to use analogue or Networked Digital system.  I use GKB and if you go to GKBSECURITY.com and look at "Solutions" you will see the difference.

2.   If you decide on using standard everyday cameras (analogue) I would, instead of wiring them with co-axial cable use network cable (Cat5) and be sure to use external and internal cable type.  I say this because if it is analogue today it will be digital tomorrow and when you upgrade you won't be changing cable.

3   When pricing a DVR (Recorder) some cute hoors give the price excluding the HDD and most are shipped without a HDD unless you are buying from a trade outlet. They may say it "provides for a 1TB HDD"

4   Millions of years ago cameras were very low resolution. Today and every day quality is increassing and there are some super cams out there. However make sure cams and DVR match, no point in having  high res cams and rubbish DVR. The DVR may have a HD output but in reality the cheapos have theem for show.  I use Talitor DVR, see talitor.com.

5 Ensure if you are buying a cheapo off the internet that is not one someone else bought in from China and it is NTSC instead of PAL or when you plug it in it has the wrong AC Voltage.

6 Don't be influenced by fancy looking cameras on a website that look like something out of Star Wars and have night vision of 60 meters and cost 40$.  They might do 60 meters today but when the cheap LED's fade you won't see your hand in front of it. Have a look at Superon Technology.

7 If you are using cameras outside either use the teardrop PTZ type or a wall mounted fixed Dome Camera (The one with the roundy face that is over your bank link machine. If you use the bullet type all you will see is spiders webs and spiders parties at night time wheras the little feckers get blown off the other type. Failing that buy a container load of Spidex if you insist on the Star Wars type cams.

8  If you have external cams use 24V AC instead of 12V DC type. You can run the power down, and the signal back along the same CAT5 cable (You have to use a balon but that's another story)  12v will drop too low over any distance above 35meters while if the cam is 100 meters away and there is no local power supply to plug it into 24V AC is fierce handy altogether.

9 Some sites allow you to log onto their DVR to have a remote view of their cameras. What you are viewing is not what will be in that big box that arrives with DHL but a big square tin lump of Chinese rubbish.

10  Despite all the above it is very simple to install a system that is cheap and efficient alll on your ownio. Don't be put off by someone talking about regulations and stuff and assholes like the Private Security Authority.  Give the lads in cctvdirect.co,uk a ring and they will specify what you want or buy it in direct.  You can also have me install it and it will cost you thousands.

If you get stuck give a holler and we will help.

Once your not hiding in a bush filming children it's OK. Didn't Eddie Maloney make a fortune selling DVD's of the football match in which he swore his wsy through the commentary.  Even called the ref a bollax and still has his house.

Ok, so we are all passionate GAA followers or the same posters would not be hrre for a million years. A lot of us have moved around a bit since the board started and just like Gabriel Hurl, got married and started a new life in what we will call an away venue. But when does away become home?

Myself, came to Dublin in '68, a million years ago, married a Dub but to this day if Laois were playing Dublin in football I empty the lungs for the Laois cause. Hurling strangely enough I would be a "silent" Dubs supporter if they play Laois and full blown anyone else.

I play an odd game of golf with father and son who plays for Dubs and Saturday I asked the Dad who he was supporting when the son is playing Galway in the hurling, he being from Galway and his answer was "how far out are we from the pin"

So are there any of us who adapt our new abodes for our home counties?

GAA Discussion / Re: Dublin v Wexford 29 June
June 30, 2014, 09:12:32 AM
I was in Hill end of Cusack yesterday and what really pissed me off, and a few more around me, was one or maybe two Dubs supporters who were blowing a whistle every time a Wexford player got the ball. As a Laois/Dub supporter this asshole with the whistle is not needed and the true Dubs on the Hill of which make up 99.99% of yhe carnival that is the Hill should 'out' the whistleblowers.

The hot dogs in the Cusack looked liked bulls mickeys and tasted shite. Other than that can't wait for Laois/Dublin in the Final and decide who to shout for?

No Lynchboy, in the year's Don't Matter is quoting there was money pumped in and instead of the teams getting close to Dublin the money was sucked out through a hole in the floor of the county board offices and went missing. In 2009 €39,000 of ticket sales money went missing and the county board were in turmoil,  half them resigned. County team selection was as close to a pint at the bar and the back of a cigarette box as you would get, outside managers brought in and they nearly ended up in the mental home from being pulled in all directions. I remember one year Ballinakill played in the county SH Final having won the U21 Final and yet had nobody on the county team.

That has all changed now and both codes have good managers. If the footballers perform well through the backdoor there is a lot to build on and the hurlers the same. A top six position in each code would be a start.  Calculating what progress we can make based on what money anyone else gets would be the finish.

Back to the game and thread title. When the final whistle blew here I noticed a bit of mutual respect among the players and along with the handshakes there were a few chats going on around the field.. That's what Laois need to earn more of and the only way they will do it is by putting in performances like Ross Munnelly and not by complaining. There was no calls to split Dublin into two teams for their hurlers a few years ago nor did Daly ask for Kilkenny and Cork to be split, he embraced what they were doing and did it better - because the mutual respect his team have now earned allows him to engage with other counties where valuable challenge games are part of his plan.

The dedication and time that is put in by the Dublin hurlers is hard to comprehend and it has nothing to do with the size of the county or money, neither of which ever put a ball in the back of the net. Unless we want to go back to the days of playing in peaked caps we should be trying to copy the Dubs. Population didn't bother Uruguay who are as small as Ireland when they won the World Cup among many other achievements in the same competition but we have our hymn sheet up on its stand ready to sing "we are too small as a nation" as soon as a ball hits the net. Nobody is too small on this planet, weak from lack of motivation maybe but never too small.

QuoteFlutes can't even see that Laois are the better football team and will win.

The Flutes got it right, imagine that.
>:(  well at least Laois gave it a lash and didn't come and set out a boring defence with hand passing. Dubs have two teams though and will be hard to beat, no team has the quality of subs.

You get the sense though that if they keep getting those goal chances for the Dubs they might kick on. As well as Laois are doing the post and their keeper is just keeping them in front.

We've seen it before where teams have lead like this in the past against Dublin. They have more in them. Still would gladly see them lose.

Laois missed two goal chances as well and a 4th minute point by Kingston waved wide. The galloots on the RTE panel are at it now saying Dubs are a second half team. Flutes can't even see that Laois are the better football team and will win.
