Just wondering what's the latest story with Niall McKenna?
I know he's been in and out of the panel over the years and had a few injuries but will we see him back in the team this year.

Actually looking at the 2008 AI winning minor team not too many made it through to the seniors.
Is McNabb sitting out the national league or where has he been this year?
Who was C.O'Neill at 15?

How many of that team still play football for club, never mind county?
Tim Harney - Transferred to Pearse Og in Armagh, Dont think he played much last year
Ronan Tierney - Havent heard his name mentioned for Errigal unless he plays 3rds?
Stephen McRory - Same as Tierney
Diarmaid McNulty - Heard talk he doesnt play anymore.

Add to the equation that the likes of Gavin Teague, Niall McKenna, Conor Gervin, Kyle Coney, Paddy McNeice and Conor O Neill (Dromore) always seem to be injured or not playing regularly for club.

I dont know all who was on the bench that year, but I would safely say alot of them dont play anymore either?

Any word on the GAA Ulster Club League fixtures, or what Tyrone teams are taking part? Generally a good few teams take part from Tyrone each year!

Think this wee tournament should be played in Summer when county men not available - would give all clubs quality 'friendly' games to keep everyone at club level interested during the respective county seasons. Appreciate some counties out earlier than others but surely competitive friendly games are good prep for club championship.

Games played mid week as well to take advantage of light evenings. Teams could travel max 45/60 mins for a quality friendly / challenge games with a competitive outcome and s result that determines something. Official referees as well to keep everyone on their toes !!!

I'll second it.

That is a good idea to be fair. But I also think it serves a purpose in pre season to offer the same benefits of organised friendlies, with official referees and something to play for in preparation for the beginning of the league.

We have already discussed the situation regarding the County minors and playing Club Senior Football, can anyone on this board clarify the situation regarding 17 year olds playing senior football? To my memory there was a proposal to introduce that rule this year. Very surprised smaller clubs have not tried to object to this!

Noone is doubting the work teamtalk do and the coverage they give to our games..it really is incredible.
But I think we all agree its impossible to select an allstar team across 3 divisions, and as someone pointed out anyone lucky  enough to be selected is more a reflection of the clubs achievement that year than anythine else. I would read absolutely nothing else into it.
Reality is its the club PR machine that gets the player selected in most cases.

I think instead of looking at those who have been nominated, or County Players who possibly werent. We should look at the number of clubs in Tyrone that have yet to receive a nomination in the years Teamtalk have been doing these awards. This would lead you to believe that only Clubs who were successful during the season seem to warrant an award. I believe this is unfair. There are many players who are exceptional all season for their club, but due to various reasons their club may struggle and therefore the player's importance to the club, and their performances all season are not rewarded.

I heard that the Lough are contemplating not fielding in the playoff v the losers of Urney and Gortin.

I cant fathom how Loughmacrory, and particularly Gortin are been punished for the Rock's actions. I am hearing last night that the reason Rock didnt field was because they had a stag. Last game before a playoff and lads decide to go off on a drinking weekend - some commitment. Moy also had a stag and they were able to field a team v Augher. Rock need punished for this. Did Glen Maghera not do something similar in Derry this year v Ballinderry. They were punished with 3 point deduction and 1 point next year to memory. Dont know if the deductions stuck wtih Glen, but if i had my way they certainly would. Dirty action on 2 clubs affected. If Gortin do end up playing in a playoff game, it will be a tasty affair!!

Aghyaran have both Derrylaughan and Moortown, both down at the loughshore unless im mistaken, could be hard pushed to operate that and come away with 2 wins. Big games for all three teams. There's a lot of teams in that mix that have yet to play each other and will have a huge bearing on the final table positions. Pomeroy have both Cookstown and Derrytresk and Cookstown have Stewartstown in their other game who are still very much in the mix. Absolute melting pot at the minute as far as I can see.. this weekends result will clear a few things up no doubt

Aghyaran play Derrylaughan at home this weekend, and I expect them to win this. They are away to Moortown next week at the Loughshore. Depending on Moortown's result v Loughmacrory this weekend, will have a massive bearing on the side they put out v Aghyaran and the result in that game. Galbally have the easier of the run ins with 2 home games so I predict them for automatic along with Edendork. Hard to see past Aghyaran or Kildress for the playoffs as they will have momentum and form on their side you would imagine.

The bottom of Division 2 is just as exciting. I expect Kildress to take points from the Rock as they push for playoffs and Eskra to confirm safety with a home win v a deflated Urney after last weekend. Gortin face a tough task away to the Hill who are also pushing the playoffs. A win for them could possibly also secure safety and confine Urney and Rock to the playoffs. Loughmacrory still in the mix also with tough games v Moortown and Kildress.

On the topic of head to head, etc earlier in the week, and with the bottom half of division 2 looking very tight, what is the ruling on safety/relegation where there are a few teams tied on points, etc? Killeeshil look in bother and doomed for the trap door straight down. Any two from Rock, Gortin, Urney, Eskra or the Lough could be dragged into the playoffs at this stage.

All intermediate games off next weekend because of the Galbally v Derrylaughan replay. So that will be 4/5 week break for intermediate teams that are out of the championship! Crazy stuff!!

This is a joke. All clubs were given the fixtures and dates to be played before end of the season. Why was there no provision made for a draw/replays? Could Intermediate games for clubs not affected by the draw not have went ahead on Saturday. Also play the replay on Saturday/Sunday, then play the league fixture midweek some night?
Clubs have planned their schedules to the end of season based on these fixtures released after Tyrone were defeated. There are clubs flying home players in Division 2 that I am aware off, so I would presume they will loss the flight money for this weekend?

Any word of fixtures for next weekend or will we have to wait on the Irish News tomorrow?

County website has been updated today to show that all postponed fixtures will be squeezed in before the 1st round of the championship so all teams will have played the required 5 games. This weekend is round 3 (the round postponed for the under 21 final), then the following weekend Coalisland v Trillick and Clonoe v Donaghmore are being played after being called off for unplayable pitches a few weeks ago.

Why is Tyrone GAA website showing all Round 3 league fixtures for this weekend as postponed?

Don't understand the crying here either, it's an all Ireland final for jesus sake, if they want a weekend give it to them. Nobody's saying all football is cancelled, grab a ball an kick like frig in your back garden, use a wall to kick her against if your U21 buddy is resting!

U21 managers "have backed fixture planners into a corner"... what, by getting to an All Ireland Final? The fact that they're goin for a trainin weekend doesn't mean the football wudnt have been called off anyway. Maybe could have made the call before Wednesday but boys if you work at weekends you have to accept that there's goin to be some disruption like. Good luck to the lads, theyv obviously worked hard.

As i said before fair play to the u21s getting this far, and good luck in the final, they have my full support. But why after the semi final over the weekend did the CCC confirm fixtures for this Saturday/Sunday on Tyronegaa.ie? Then wait to hold their meeting on Tuesday and announce the decision on Wednesday. By that stage already, men had made provisions to get work off Saturday or change shifts to suit the confirmed fixtures for this weekend. Of course there will be sacrifices to be made every weekend - but when you see confirmed fixtures you take that as Gospel. You add into the equation the clubs who are flying lads home and wouldve booked their flights. I dont know how La Managa is been funded, but what about the clubs and players who are out money this weekend due to negligence on the CCC's behalf. Once again the club players are screwed over and forgotten about!

I have sat on the fence so far over this dilemma off County v Club in the case of the U21s. The U21s deserve our full support and rightly so, but the County Board has not acted in the correct manner in order to keep Clubs happy and offer their full support.
This weekends fixtures called off on Tuesday night, and news of this only reaching the Clubs and Players on Wednesday. The U21s won their Semi Final on Saturday - why did we have to wait 3-4 days for this decision? There is a clear lack of respect for the average club player. What about the man who booked off work to accomodate the games on Saturday evening? What about the numerous clubs who have booked flights for players coming home from England to play games? I want to put my full support behind the U21s, they deserve their chance of success, but the farce regarding fixtures this week has really tinted my judgement!

I know the issue has been raised before but what if we were to implement a similar layout to Club Football in Kerry. Yes, there will be more games which is a further headache for the CCC but this also opens more flexibility for Clubs as their standard players are getting plenty of game time, whilst the county players will be able to play a high percentage of these in addition to training with the County Panel.

To further detail my point, there would be a main Senior Championship whereby all our current Senior Clubs would take part. We would then have divisional teams such as North, East, South and West taking part. This would give the opportunity for Intermediate and Junior players to play against the 'better quality' players in the County. These divisional teams would then also have their own Divisional Championship.

I dont quite fully understand the entire mechanics to how it all works (Maybe someone can enlighten) but i am sure you get the point I am trying to make. Everyone wants the County teams to succeed so we can dine at the top table once again. However our Club players feel alienated because they are been sacrificed and dont get enough game time for the training and effort they put in. The old Cup Competitions were ok as a means of providing games, but the competitiveness soon was lost and we returned to the same old issues.
