Be no Belfast teams in the semi finals this year.  When was the last time that happened?

You'd have to think its Portglenone's year.  I just cant see past them this year.  They have been knocking on the door for years, I think its finally going to open.

Aghagallon, Tir Na Nog and Gort Na Mona all in a 3 team group in the senior championship. Only noticed today after seeing it laid out in tables in todays Irish News. The bottom 3 teams in the league, whereas Creggan or St Johns will go out tomorrow. Something badly wrong with that draw.
Ah.....luck of the draw ...is a random outcome of a draw
Luck of the draw yes, handy for the 3 teams In the group yes. Good for the standard of the championship NO!

Covid is done so I believe the best thing to do is go back to straight knock out.  Hard to beat straight knock out championship football.  I think the league basis / round robin thing dilutes it and creates matches that dont have that championship feel.

Possibly not at their best so far, but don't be writing Creggan off just yet. Still a two horse race in my view.

Yep, none of the city teams will be near it or for a few years to come by the looks of things.

Brilliant game & atmosphere in Beragh last night for the Reserve championship final played in a great spirit.  Game could of went either way but carmen not being able to find a score for the last 15 mins or so really was the difference - albeit major chances to equalise / extend our lead when we went 2 points up.  Dromores free taking was consistent throughout and I suppose got them over the line in the end. Fair play but I hope a lot more to come from that group of players we have in both senior / reserve ranks.
Great advertisement for reserve football with a great crowd and game to suit. Delighted our lads got over the line, good sign of our strength in depth as we didn't have any player you would say is a regular senior player. Both teams had a good mix of youth and experience and would hold their own in division 2 senior football I imagine. Nice to see teams trying to play football and not go overly defensive

You on the wind up here I assume lad?

is there a reason they cant be played around 2 pm or 3pm saturdays that gives players time to do saturday night activitys   id say most  local soccer games are played around those time.

Conflicts then with soccer. Lot of guys like to play both.  Clonoe wouldn't have a team between 2.00-4.30pm on a Saturday.

Very disappointing end to the year yesterday. Not enough scoring forwards, no energy,  teague gamble backfired badly.  M o Neill should never get a number 11 jersey ahead of Darragh canavan again. No scoring threat at all in the half forward line. Hopefully the club season gets finished in good time this year and lads get a few months off. Don't forget the club season finished on 19th December last year which is a joke and it really showed this year. We will be a different animal next year.

You got your wish STG, grass isnt always greener, let this be a lesson.
grass was very green last year! Are you suggesting we shouldn't have got rid of Harte? Jesus wept.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Mickey still the greatest manager we ever had.  I felt we would have won the all Ireland last year with Mickey in charge, it was just a continuation of what he had done previous.  We really could have done with him yesterday imo.

I honestly can't see past Portglenone winning the championship this year.  They have all the tools at their disposal
