Will Coulter be an U-21 footballer this year, or will the hurling be his first priority?
Why would he give up the football when so far this year he's been able to fit in both codes?

The u21 championship is very open given the state the harps appear to be in,

Care to elaborate here Aghdavoyle? I went up to the Harps match yesterday (wished I never parked on the grass) and althought the conditions were abysmal the Harps looked like a strong outfit all over the field. I think they'd be my favourites for this competition

Larsson back to haunt his old boss  ;)

Another three points on the board this weekend Utd should've had the game dead and buried in the first half. Some of the build up play was fantastic from Utd pity about the finishing or lack of it! A win against Benfica and another against Man City and there'd be a 9 point gap before Chelski face the Gunners. That would be nice going into the Xams period.

I doubt the Ogs will be the favorites for the U21 competition this yr and if you have ever played against an amalgamated team then you will know that they are never easy opponents. I remember playing against Cill Chluana a few years back and the Ogs team that I played on just about beat them. As for drawing with St John's on Saturday I think the Ogs expected a tough encounter but I also believe that there were 6 scorable frees missed by the Ogs. Anyway the replay should be good this weekend if the conditions allow for it to take place.

Man Utd 'to sign striker Larsson'

Larsson could make his Premiership bow at 35
Manchester United have made a shock move to sign veteran striker Henrik Larsson on loan from Swedish club Helsinborg, according to reports.
Helsinborg declined to comment but will hold a news conference at 1130 GMT.

Former Celtic striker Larsson, 35, would be available in January but would return to Helsingborg in March when the Swedish season starts.

United are short of options up front, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer injured and Alan Smith still seeking full fitness.

That leaves Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha as their only recognised strikers.

However, Barcelona have also been linked with a move for their former striker as they are also suffering an injury crisis, with Samuel Eto'o, Lionel Messi and Javier Saviola injured.

Larsson left Barca at the end of last season to join hometown club Helsingborg for a second time.

He spent two seasons in Spain and played a decisive role in this year's Champions League final when he came on in the second half and set up both goals in the defeat of Arsenal.

This would not be a bad move for Utd especially as Larsson would be consider 3rd / 4th choice but all the same it beats looking at Silvestre on the bench as a matchwinner  ;D

Thats Why Tir na nOg have never won anything in their lives, to many boys telling you how to play when they couldn't do it on the field. ::). And the last team in Armagh who should have beaten Cross was indeed the Ogs in keady, i was at the game and Bendover is correct ;)

Ditto, the Ogs were very unlucky that day, thank God!!!  ;D

Disagree Sureyouwill - luck did not come into it and neither in my opinion did the Oisin McConville incident. The real reason the Ogs didn't win is that they didn't believe in themselves - end of! They beat themselves.

But surely Rufus if you see justice being done and a classy forward like McConville getting the line it's bound to give the team an extra lift (not that they should need it playing Cross) then again I take your point the Ogs did kick 2-3 silly wides in the second half as well

The only team that came even close to beating Cross in the past few yrs was the Ogs in the match played in Keady, it was very close at the end with the Ogs leading by 1 or 2 and McConville shoulda got the line for headbutting but maybe becayse of who he was he didn't get the line and the rest is history! Unfortunately  :-[

Surely the club itself realises that they've no chncae of winning the championship they are in so be going down to the next grade they stand themselves a better chance of winning it and now with the all-ireland competition added on its like Full Back says
Quote from: full back on November 30, 2006, 09:54:42 AMit should generate a lot more interest in the area & perhaps get the team going again i.e get players back etc.

But then will every club feel the need to lower their standards so they can progress to an All-Ireland clubg final albeit of a lower standard  ???

thought Carrick had a good game alright
thought Vidic was arguably better, shouldn't Drogba have been sent off for that sneaky elbow?
I have to agree here Sky caught Drogba having a look to see where Vidic was and then he jumped and caught he square on the nose with an elbow

I thought Utd were asking for the Chelsea onsluaght to happen because when they came out for the second half Scholes and Carrick seemed to sit that little bit deeper with Giggs and Ronaldo also tucked in. When in fact the Utd midfield shoulda lined out further up the park. Once Utd began to struggle all Fergie had to do was drop Rooney wide on the left push Giggs in beside/front of Scholes and Carrick and play Chelsea on the counter attack. Saha was a bit unlucky clearing the corner but looked like VDS had it covered.... lack of communication prehaps?

Not a bad result but seriously need to strengthen the squad in Jan

The Benfica game scares the shit out of me now. Even with it at home I have no doubt but that Queiroz will come up with a tactical masterplan to get a draw.

I agree with you Seanie not feeling to confident about the Benfica game especially if last night is anything to by. When the first 11 can't do the business who does fergie think can break the deadlock O'Shea / Richardson etc. God help us if he's relying on anyone outside the first 11. Will Ole be back for the Benfica game?
