GAA Discussion / Re: Dual players

Paul McCormack Armagh left the footballers to play for the hurlers, but he wasn't a starter on the football team.  Big Geoffrey played for both Derry hurlers and footballers throughout his career when selected.  What about JBM?

Kevin Hinphey is the captain of Derry hulers.

Interesting to see how many inter-county dual players there is now – Higgins would be one of the few.  There is also Michale Magill and until recently Brendan Herron and Karl Stewart of Antrim.  Conal Keaney was Dublins best hurler, but he packed it in too.  It will be a while for anybody to do what Sean Og did and play in an All Ireland Senior Hurling and Football final in the same year.

Yeah, 5 was good - as for answers, what were we given?  The interesting thing was the release of Ben - the spy has to be Michael.  Remember Ben giving him co-ordinates to leave the island, I bet you they took him right to the ship.

QuoteDid you think so Nrico? I suppose they had to stay reasonably true to the book.

I haven't read the book.  Shoot-out or not, the ending was poor, or maybe it was just the fact that I had been watching True Romance beforehand and was in the mood for it.

QuoteAbsolutely Seanie, Fabregas, Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka, Ronaldinho and other top midfielders are renowned for tracking back and defending. I sometimes wonder why their managers also have players such as Flamini, Mascherano, Makelele, Pirlo playing alongside them.......

Maybe to allow them more freedom?!?

On the subject of bad endings - 'No Country for Old Men' will take some beating!

I suppose what I meant was that he doesn't go down Willem Dafoe style anymore, and seems to try and stay on his feet alot of the time.  Whats the latest with Uniteds goalie situation - is VDS out along with Kuszcak?

QuoteHe is getting a reputation for going down with refs, and he's like the boy who cried wolf. He's had 2 penalties at least I can think of this season that have not been awarded.

???

He received that reputation on his arrival and has obviously found it difficult to shake.  There has been a few occasions where he has been treated harshly, and he doesn't go down easily these days.  Glad to see 3 non-premiership teams in the last 4.

Fergie was obviously not very gracious in defeat, but why should he not be allowed to complain about the refereeing?  United should have had a penalty, and Portsmouth were fortunate to be awarded one - as for the red card, FFS there was 2 or 3 defenders between Baros and the goal.  What about Jamie Redknapp and co on Sky Sports - Did Portsmouth deserve their win?  They all responded yes.  One went further and asked, how many United players played well in comparison to how many Portsmouth players played well.  United didnt take their chances and didnt play anywhere near their best, but how the hell can you try and say a team deserved a wina and played better whenever they were blitzed for the entire match?

No, I lashed her out a few months ago and the old rent is stinging the pocket too much, so a share with a few dolls would go down better.  What about yourself, theres bound to be wedding bells ringing soon is there not?

Thanks Donagh!

Apart from the obvious flatmate.co.uk, anybody know a good and quick way to find rooms available to rent for the Craigavon/Lurgan area?

Thanks

Early stages but thinking of going to Sydney first.  Have a mate over there who has an apartment so that should be grand for a few weeks, but if 3 of us head then maybe we will just stay in a hostel for a week or two.  Thanks.

QuoteThink he meant the hurdle being Milan.

I know, but I'm in a fran mood.  Plus, I hate talking about the Milan games last year.  Circumstances were definitely in Arsenals favour last night.
