Quotebut paradoxically the compactness lends itself to such an intimidating atmosphere that the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal cannot cope with on Champions League occasions.

Lol, good one. Liverpool seem to simply get the rub of the green (x 10) whenever they play in Europe, the goal that never was in 2005 and the penalty from Tuesday night - hardly argument that Liverpool and Chelsea cannot cope with the fortress that is Anfield!  ;D ;D ;D

QuoteI'll be telling the wife to put a jumper on instead of putting the heating on!

You won't like that then - we all know how much pleasure you take from seeing women wearing t-shirts in cold weather.

QuoteUnited would not be in the position they are in had Ronaldo played the same amount of games as VP this year

What kind of bollox statement is that.  Every team has a player that is seen as their main man, and RVP is not the main man at Arsenal anyway.  He spends more time in police stations and the treatment table than he does on the pitch.  Sure Liverpool would be nowhere without Torres this season, as would Arsenal without Fabregas/Adebayor!

Hyypia has been some servant to Liverpool and has still alot to offer.

QuoteWalcott is lightning quick but Mascherano was close to catching until he fell on his hole

Close, but not close enough!

It will be a Chelsea v Man U/Barca final.  Liverpools luck will run out, but I suppose when you have teams like Chelsea/Arsenal/United challenging for the league aswell then Liverpool should be fresher as they only have the CL to play for.

I would be moaning if I was Wenger too - a challenge nowhere near as illegal as the one executed by Kuyt last week wins the game for Liverpool - I feel for Arsenal, Liverpool have lady luck again and also had a nice little rest at the weekend too.

QuoteAlso the fact Kerry are guarenteed a QF spot every year helps a bit as well I'd say.

Well said!

I would like to see Pique play tomorrow night, he has the quality but just needs the games.

Harte has earned the right to re-structure the team, but quite simply as part of his back-room staff I think Tyrone need someone in the mould of Tally to come back in.  As previously mentioned, we were in as bad a state last year in the league and we had SON and a few others playing here and there.  The worrying thing this year is that the fitness levels and intensity don't seem to be what they were, and that was something that was acredited to Tally in 2003, whereas it was the frequency and number of games in 2005 that helped the team on.

QuotePlayers like Canavan, McAnallen, O'Neill and McGuigan. Take them out of any inter-county team and they'd struggle (expect Kerry).

I take it you meant except - but are you trying to tell me that Kerry would not struggle without arguably their 4 best players - if you took Cooper and the 3 O'Se's out of the Kerry team I would put money on them struggling aswell.  But I agree with you in that Paddy Tally needs to be brought back in.

Anybody see the Ronaldo documentary oafter the match the other night - very good.  Some of the tricks it showed him performing for both United and Portugal were unreal.  Did you see his mess about kickups, amazing!

Me too.

QuoteIf Torres is still going "missing" in 3 or 4 years time i would be worried, its not really a fair comparison as Ronaldo has been doing it for a while now.......

Matrix, quite different when Ronaldo entered the premier league as a teenager and was just finding his feet in senior football, whereas Torres is older than Ronaldo and has experienced both European and International football previously.

Sorry, Inter have been doing well in Europe and dominating Italy for years - they even have the ace in the pack Ibrahimovic!
