Armagh / Re: Armagh Club football & hurling
August 09, 2007, 03:35:58 PM
children children stop fighting over scraps.  you wont be able to play with the big boys from cross until you grow up!!!

how can one team be so dominant for the good of football in armagh someone has to mount a serious challenge is it not embarrassing to be so far behind for so long???
as for the claim about cross fading and the clanns men taking over what are you basing this on???
Cross cleared up Minor, U21 and senior last year so it doesnt look like they are goin to fade any time soon and by the time the present cross team and those coming up just behind are on the wane who knows what club will be there.

on a totally different subject how do you all rate ballymacnabs chances against the Ogs have they a hope give me score predictions please

yous dont exactly have alot to shout about do you??? bet you wish you had kept mickey moran now!!! at least he took the job for alove of football and give it his full attention not like the tube you had this year who took the job to get elected and spent half his time argueing with politicians, trying to look good on camera and campaigning for the Dail.

Cavan / Re: Official Cavan GAA Thread
August 09, 2007, 03:17:18 PM

Nicholas Walsh was in Austrailia for two years.
Hes now more interested in the more physical aspects of the game than actually playing football, usually doesnt even bother trying to catch the ball and when he gets it in open play just hand passes it.

[/quote]

this is another reason that counties with a bit of foresight keep their stars of the future away from such squads.  theres no doubt that theres talent in cavan but attitudes, coaching, preparation or something is badly wrong because at present only antrim rank lower thaqn you in ulster and this shouldnt be the case.

its some strech to compare a group of cavan u16s who have got to the final of a tin cup to the great fitzgerald!!! I totally agree wid max on this one if cavan football is so great in the last 20 years wheres all the Rannafast cups youve won, mccrory cups, ulster and all ireland minors, U21 ulster and all irelands and senior ulster and all irelands????  Fair enough you won an ulster in 1997 with by a point that was actually a wide but honestly what else???

the fact you are citing getting players on the u17 international rules side as some sort of achievement to beat the rest of us with just demonstrates how far you have fallen from the days of 5 all irelands.  Derry dont send the stars of the future to these u17 talent shows cause this is where the australian teams go for their bargain hunting.  ie Martin Clarke.

the u17 shit means nothing its not that long ago that cavans nicolas walsh was "the next big thing" because he was starring for the u17 team at the time.  now look at him he is a decent enough squad player on a poor county team he doesnt dominate games and is usually detailed to play a very negative marking and fouling game on the star mid fielder on the other team.

U17 INTERNATIONAL SHIT
your right max!!!

i work in armagh and its spreading like wild fire that grimley turned it down to stay wid cavan to "finish the job he started" with them and yer man mc donnell has taken it with a backroom team that includes morrison and rafferty i have heard it from three different sources. came on here to see if any of you boys knew anything about it. i thought grimley was a cert?

i have to say in my own club when the championship is over you never see half the lads again apart from the odd appearance at a game and you know they dont wanna be there.  I would take the big turnouts over tha anyday lad!!! but we dont get fed after training or games or anything sounds like yous are well looked after its nice to feel appreciated. as a carrickmore man who do you think will win the tyrone senior title this year??

Armagh / Re: The Harps Thread - Victory Over The Ogs

Does anyone see any team beating crossmaglen in the seniors or minors or u21s this year surely someone could mount a respectable challenge somewhere along the line???  just out of a matter of interest why are the cross lads so much better than the rest of armagh?  I know about the disgraceful situation where they play nearly all the county finals on their own pitch (which would never happen in any other county in Ireland) but 11 in a row cant be down to just that.  Why dont the rest of Armagh kick up a fuss about the preferential treatment they get surely they arent that scary!!

I would imagine your club championship will be able to proceed after sunday!!! I would love to see Derry V Monaghan in the all ireland Semi-Final but its hard to see both the teams coming through.  Kerry arent what they were but i still think they will have to much class for the farney men.  Derry have a better chance because Dublin arent as good as kerry they stumbled through a weak province and im sure they are very thankful for the illegal goal against meath and that they were playing a meath team that wasnt settled like now. Dublin are built up every year because it sells papers to the Knackers who believe what they are told to believe.  Dublin are a formidable obstacle but are not like kerry a band of ruthless assasins waiting for an opening to put you to the sword.

Both Ulster teams deserve great credit for how far they have come this summer i hope and pray the journey doesnt end this weekend!!!   Lets travel in our numbers and give both teams the support they deserve.

To be honest Mayo will always be the Nearly Team. Not nearly enough class to win sam. Reckon O' Mahonony is the last throw of the dice. Just seem to lack the bottle for big games. And in my opinion Derry will be lively contenders for sept time.
