Quote from: intheknowhow on November 25, 2023, 03:14:26 PMDo Cavan people realise that the majority of counties operate their championships and leagues combined? You can lose a senior champ final in Monaghan and still be relegated.

No they don't.

Ballyhaise are a big strong athletic team with some excellent forwards. Have been trying to win an intermediate for years and beat in a number of finals.

Kielty knocking it out of park. All about the toys and kids, rather then Tubridy when it was all about him. Best I've seen in years.

Quote from: intheknowhow on November 21, 2023, 09:47:02 AMIt's not fair though that a team Can play a league above their grade that they are in for championship.

If you are no good in the league tough luck, you get relegated for championship.

You are either a junior, intermediate or senior club... not senior club for the league but intermediate for the championship because you feel like it

Arva playing junior champ and D1 league, therefore league 2 grades above their champ positioning

They have cooked the books, like Kerry do, personally I'd be embarrassed turning in for junior champ knowing full well i was a senior player in a senior team, hollow victories all round

Yeah you're right, they cooked the books. They deliberately lost last years junior final. Sure didn't they start kicking the ball over their own bar.

Quote from: Jell 0 Biafra on November 18, 2023, 06:21:28 PMWhy would that mean it would increase? What's a points deduction this season to last season's relegated clubs?

Because with other clubs set to sue and reopen case the punishment may increase.

Even if the case was reopened, how would an increased point deduction help these other clubs?  Even if they were able to show a sporting advantage had accrued to Everton, that would have been in previous seasons. Docking them more points this season doesn't help with that.

There would also be a fine.

Quote from: Itchy on November 17, 2023, 06:38:10 PMIreland U21s suffer from same problem as seniors, no midfield players worth talking about. Passing the ball aimlessly around at the back and then hoofing it up the channels.
No doubt some truth and learnings in that but I thought the 21s were a bit unlucky. Brilliant second goal to go 2-1 up, missed a few chances to go 3-1 up that would have killed the game, then an individual error to concede a ridiculous penalty and a sucker punch a minute or so later to go 3-2 down. A draw was the least they deserved, but don't always get what you deserve.

If only they could have played Andrew Moran.

here comes Mr Daily Mail ffs. If anyone is getting sued it would be the premier league, those clubs will feel the Everton decision should have happened last season or season before and gave them opportunity to stay up.

The decision from the board to penalise Everton included the wording that Everton received 'no sporting advantage' from breaking Profit and Sustainability rules therefore making any claims against Everton a non starter.

Mr Daily Mail, never been called that before.

Quote from: LC on November 18, 2023, 05:49:47 PMSimilarities it would seem between Cavan and Tyrone clubs.  Junior and intermediate teams would usually be among the strongest in Ulster but their seniors rarely break much delft in the Ulster Championship.  Errigal in the 90s and maybe Kingscourt before that were the only victors I can ever recall at senior level.

No Cavan team has ever won Ulster club. Don't think Kingscourt ever made a final. Bailieboro did and I think Cavan Gaels did too, both lost.

Kingscourt made two finals.

It might increase as the clubs relegated are now involved.

The answer to this question is always Damien Reilly for Cavan against Donegal. Look it up on YouTube.

Glenties poor or Gowna better than I thought initially?
Glenties were fairly poor but they nicked the win. Just far too negative. Gowna will be hurt bad by that but they threw it away at the end

Gowna will be back. A ridiculously young team. 9 or 10 starters 21 or younger.

Naomh Conaill 4 up at HT Vs Gowna. They have a strong blanket defence though and Gowna aren't playing well, be surprised if NC through his away now.

Level now
