Quote from: tonto1888 on April 29, 2024, 10:32:30 AMany guitar players got any tips of mastering barre chords

* make sure your hand / arm is correct, ie you'll want your thump and index finger to form a clamp.

* learn to play open E with your middle, ring and pinky finger (makes it easier to move the E shape barre chairs down the fret board)

* maybe start with power chords, ie E A D strings (E shape barre) or A D G strings (A shape barre) and learn to navigate up and down the fret board memorising the chords.

* do not get hung up on all the strings ringing clear, the bottom B string can be a brut. Work on placing the barre chord as quick and accurately as you can.

Haven't looked, but I'm sure Justin Sandercoe or Andy Guitar would have a video or two with better / clearer tips

cheers for the reply. Will look those two up. Its the B and Low E strings which never sound right. Always sound muted for me

Quote from: jcpen on April 28, 2024, 04:17:43 PMIs that Top 4 secure for Liverpool now after Spurs losing?

It looks like it. Unless Spurs win their 5 remaining games by a 20 goal difference and Liverpool lose their 3 remaining games
Stranger things have happened....

considering one of those 5 is Man City it would have to be very very strange

Quote from: seafoid on April 28, 2024, 09:28:22 PMWhy is the final between the 2 d2 teams? Hmmmn.

Because this is Ulster, where every team in the province has contested the final at least once  in the last twenty years.
Every game is a lottery.
Its why it the best championship in the land.
You might have a point but there's no need to tell lies.

There appear to be no certainties so if not a lottery its certainly unpredictable.
There are certainties. Antrim & Fermanagh are going to lose. Down extremely likely to as well.

You could have picked 4 out of 9 to win it. 2 of those are in the final.

Pedantic posts of the week go to....  8)
It's a completely boring and untrue narrative though.
The Leinster final of 2023 had 2 Division 2 teams in it. They felt no need to use that fact to big themselves up. We, in Ulster, do. Our football can be fcukin dreadful too, and there's plenty of evidence this weekend.
In 2023 Leinster didnt have any Division 1 teams

dont let that get in the way

Donegal will be strong favourites for the final

Quote from: gallsman on April 27, 2024, 08:13:30 PMDown goals were a comedy of errors defensively. There was some running and handpassing in the build up, nothing more.

Genuinely shocked at how much credit people are trying to give down. They turned up to play as little football as possible, and when they did, were largely terrible at it.

Thomas Niblock has called it a phenomenal performance from Down on Twitter. I think your assessment is closer to the truth about their performance.

Niblock would call a fart in a phone box phenomenal ffs

Quote from: SouthOfThe Bann on April 27, 2024, 06:58:32 PMIf Down had a free taker or a forward of any use they'd have won that game with ease.

Armagh atrocious.

But they won. That's the main thing. And they came out the right side of a tight game. Hopefully that'll stand to them

Quote from: thewobbler on April 27, 2024, 05:44:46 PMDown and Armagh doing their absolute best to ensure people find better things to do - or just about anything else to do - than watch Gaelic Football.

Our sport is fucked beyond words.

Wouldnt say that. Counties now simply hire too many games who are shite and who focus far too much on defense rather that attack.

Armagh county board are mad to be paying mcgeary for 10 years

They would be if that's who they were paying

So would calling for the deportation of 7200 people "whose asylum applications have been refused" be a far right
Position?

All I say is there was a famous case last year where an asylum seeker in Belfast had his claim for asylum refused at first instance.  The reason for his refusal was he had claimed he would be persecuted in his home country because he was involved in guerrilla warfare.  The Home Office rejected that this would entitle him to asylum because 'gorillas are an endangered species' and fighting them shouldn't allow him to claim asylum.

So id at least like appeals to be dealt with first

is this true?
