GAA Discussion / Re: Tommy Lyons and Mayo payment row
February 24, 2012, 01:06:29 PM
lyons is probably still feeling a little bitter from not getting the job. i have no proof but i reckon all the top level counties are giving their managers afew bob. not many of them driving porsches or the like, but a few bob to help the job run smoother.
a few euro paid to the right man can really work miracles. ;)

Mayo, apparently, had a pre famine population of 400,000? Where did they all live?  And ballina had a few breweries and a shkite of local newspapers.
In other things that make me wonder and think a lot.
The 2 year old boy that died in front of Marie Colvin, she was a CNN reporter in syria. She was naturally upset, as anyone with a heart would, she explained why she wanted the footage broadcast, sadly she was dead a day later herself, a victim just like the little kid of the bombing in Homs.

Israel could be on their own if they decide to attack. The USA will not get involved, the American people are getting tired of the constant wars and "nation building" while their own country is falling apart. The 16 trillion dollar national debt does not help neither.

The problem with attacking Iran is they actually can fight back. And they have the heavyweights backing them, as long as the yanks know that, there will be no attacking Iran. Guaranteed.

Being the only big boy left in the small boys league would surely make the victories even more hollow than they are today where you have to share them only with the other big boy, no?

An annual two horse race. Without each other who's there left to hate and cheer about beating?

if mayo could win anything out the field i think the forward line picked would be good enough to put up a decent score. i doubt dublin done any more than 20 sessions in january, unless they are looking to get hurt. looking forward to hearing the game, come on Mayo!!!

Well, the white monster done a lot more harm to them than sell them alcohol. They would open a huge case if they sought money for the murder of their ancestors and the theft of their land.

The real new jersey girls would be crying that they weren't used enough, only two fellas shagging them at a time.

A couple of thousand dub fans at most. I think mayo are not far behind Dublin in the quality stakes and expect a close game.
Mayo 2 10
Dublin 1 11

I think a small number on the front is a good idea.

Didn't see the game but I would be delighted if every team we play in the league put a big man in FF and rain floods of ball in on Caff. Good to get a win in the first remotely serious game and wouldn't read too much into any individual's performance.
Why would you want cafferkey put under pressure like that?

Sure puts things in perspective, empty pockets and hungry kids.
