Just seen on website that Ger ROgan has been appointed manager. Should be a positive appointment. I think we should thank James O;Kane and his team for putting their best efforts into the set up. The problem now is getting the best 30 hurlers in the county onto the panel. Some lads just don't want to play for their county. That isn't taking away from the lads their at the minute. Many of them deserve to be there and want to be there.

Would be grea to see full commitment from players and the county board backing Ger with whatever he wants to do. Parity with the footballers is all that is asked in terms of resources. Without that from your county board why would anyone be encouraged to represent their county?

The problem is getting 30 players of any standard for the panel and no amount of work from managers, CB will sort this problem. What resources are you thinking of if the players and clubs aren't gonna buy into it

just that the hurlers we have couldnt be arsed ?

I heard there was training recently with only single figure numbers turning up for it. Very sad state of affairs. We have fallen very badly in only 10 years and i don't know if anyone can turn it around. The CB i'm sure will give it full backing as they have a hurling man in Mickey McCracken to push it and with him as Chairman of CCC i wouldn't imagine the hurling fixtures pushed to a corner.

I'm in full agreement with you regarding the referee. He robbed Steelstown big time. I never disputed that. All i'm saying is the booing when opposition are taking free's and cheering when they miss has no part in our games. I sympathise with Steelstown regardin Brolly but no excuse for the rest of it.

You can't blame the supporters for getting frustrated with Brolly. Anyone who was at the game will tell you that nearly all the free's went Castledawson's way and no bookings and there was a couple of harsh challenges that deserved a card. However I can't take away Dawson's last 2 points .. that was their best points of the game. I believe if the ref had been fair it would have been a much better game for both teams. Steelstown should have held on for the last 2 minutes.

Don't agree with the crap about soccer, there was plenty of decent people that came out to support the team that couldn't believe how corrupt Brolly was .. but for anyone who knows him ..this was nailed on from the start.

Disappointed for the lads .. they worked hard and deserved a fair chance at the game and they didn't get that.

The booing of the Castledawson free takers and cheering if they missed had nothing to do with the referee.

i didnt say if it was the county board,i said we have a full time secretary and if you knew your facts which you dont seem to you would know that she is responsible for results going into the paper so going down the road of petty name calling as part of your argument reflects more on you and the strength of your argument

Surely though when we read a club section in the local papers from all the clubs this is sent in by the club PRO... no?? that is the PRO's job. Surely the same applies to County. All connection with media, T.V, papers, magazines, website's etc. is done solely by the PRO so there is nothing duplicated or different things sent out by 2 different sources. This has to make common sense and leaves nothing sent to press open for scrutiny or blame.

The only winner here was Ciaran Brolly .. he refereed the game the way we all expected and most likely got a pat on the back and a golden handshake from the county board .. absolute disgrace.

I am quite sure Castledawson would have perferred a fair game won on their own skills .. rather than with the aid of the referee .. they know it was wrong when the Castledawson captin acknowledging that there were some dubious decisions that didn't go Steelstowns way.

Well done Steelstown .. you won the game .. it was the ref who lost it for you.

You are right in every respect with regards to team and referee. Pity the majority of your supporters are a bunch of soccer infested, chanting, booing morons who have brought their thuggish Brandywell mentality to our games. They were a disgrace on Saturday booing every free C'Dawson took and this chanting of cheat. While i sympathise with the players on Saturday, the same can't be said for the supporters.
