Why on earth would they need scouts in All 32 counties?  I could do the Kilkenny scouts job from home.

The County Board have quite cleverly passed the ball back to the players. They are now between a rock and a hard place. If they refuse to accept binding arbitration they will appear unreasonable, Ciork will not play in the NFL or NHL this year and the players will be blambed. If they accept it thjey will end up accepted far less than they started the whole row over in the first place.

Remember this row didn't start over Teddy Holland.

This could be a bit of craic.

Hardstation

Real Laoislad

Pints Of Guinness

Can we use amusing names for our teams?

These are the "3 Amiegos".

Hard to believe in this day that a politican (isn't he the Lord Mayor??) could come off with that!

What do you mean?

Thank you gentlemen. It seems it isn't that clear. I'm glad I'm not a betting man.

He could have been from Mayobridge, but we now know that they didn't have a team in the 1960s so he played for Burren or Clonduff. Which was it; Burren or Clonduff?

What did it say in the match programme? In those days did it name the parish or the club?

It's over. Cork has lost.

Now the clever GAA folk in Cork have to sort out the peace from the wreckage. Starting a row is easy. Ending it isn't so easy.

I believe that there is nothing that I believe that is controversial.

Could a neighbouring county not lend them a couple of footballers in the same manner that they lend out hurlers to weaker counties?

This is an interesting proposal but if they are going to do they should do it right and build the duel carriageway version straight through to the Dublin Road. There is no need for two bridges within a mile of each other.

When will the winner be announced?  By the way Hard Station; the innuendo about Phill Coulter is uncalled for.

We had a new couple from the neighbourhood in for a game of cards tonight and chat turns to GAA matters as it always does in our house.

Well to cut a long story short this neighour of mine claims that the great Tom O'Hare who won a Senior Football All Ireland for Down in 1968 played for Burren. I alway thought he was a Mayobridge man.

I wasn't a 100% sure but my neighour is adamant that he played his football with Burren. He wanted to place a bet on who was right - I was having none of that I can tell you! (He doesn't know me very well obviously  :D)

They seem like a nice couple. Tonight was the first time we've had them round for the evening. If it turns out he has been winding me up it could be the last.  >:(

That represents everything that is wrong with the GAA in my opinion.

A man gets drunk and uses discusting language in addressing a public meeting. It was bad enough that he behaves like that in public but you are as bad for publishing it on this discussion board.  Shame on you for posting it!

There are young boys and girls that read this board you know?

Didn't Phil write "The Town I loved So Well?" One of the best Irish ballads of the past 50 years.  Always brings a tear to my eye, that one.
